Review: Lost my dry cleaning. They claim that someone else picked it up for me with out providing a claim ticket

(I still have my ticket)

They said that a lady came in to pick up her cleaning and "spotted" my cleaning hanging on the rack; (5) shirts & (1) pair of pants saying that was her husbands and she would pay for them too

I told them that can't be right, surly the lady will come back after she notices she has the wrong clothes.

They said no, that the lady was my wife ?

That can't be right, my wife has never stepped foot in their cleaners, ever

After several visits, the man kept insisiting my wife picked them up.

All I wanted was the value of my clothes, as printed on their claim ticket's "liability"

They have refused to admit or take responsibility either for loosing the clothes, damaging them, or giving them to another customer, only to insist my wife picked them up

They did have a sign up on their wall that no clothes could be picked up without a "claim ticket", my last visit to their store I noticed they took the sign down, probably based on the fact that I pointed out their "policy" to them and why did they give my clothes to a person without the claim ticket

Also, this isn't the first time I have used them.

I have taken my clothes to them before with no complaints. I'm disapointed that they just don't want to do the right thing, apparently just to get out of paying for a "loss"Desired Settlement: (1) pair of slacks = $75.00

(5) nice "hawaiian" shirts = $300.00

This is Elkhorn Cleaners official response to the claim made by [redacted]. We truly believe that we gave the garments to Mrs. [redacted] when she came into our store for the first time without the pink receipt. However, we understand that it is our mistake to not collect the pink receipt at the moment. We would like to make an offer to pay for part of the loss.

We are offering to pay $190 since the garments were used, not brand new.

Please understand that we are a small business so there has been many fraud cases where customers took advantage of our policy. We are sorry for the misunderstanding and miscommunication but this is the best we can offer to our ability.

We will follow our policy on the pink receipt. We appreciate you pointing out our policies and we will incorporate other ways to prevent this in the future. We will enforce the pink receipt policy harder and monitor at the cleaners with surveillance camera. We can mail you the check to the address provided by Revdex.com in the amount of $270.
