Ella Blue Beauty Boutique Reviews (2)

I had a very poor, very unsafe experience here today. To start, the salon is filthy. The bathroom walls are dirty and the sink has mold around it, the stools in the lobby are dirty, the rug in the entrance looks as though it's not been washed in years. It made me very hesitant about the cleanliness of the rest of the facility. I was asked to answer a questionnaire about my health before services, including questions asking about if I'd had recent injuries or dislocations (I've had both), allergies (I have many), pregnancy (I am 6 months pregnant) etc... There was no place on the form to indicate what these specific things were, nor was I ever asked, not even, and especially when, being given treatments that were put directly onto my skin to which I might have been allergic or could be harmful to my baby or my pregnancy. My massage was simply a weak massage done on my side, then on my back, which is a known risk to pregnant women, and I was charged an extra $12 for the massage. I am entirely sure what the extra charge was for. Additionally, my massage therapist (I'm unsure if she was licensed, I saw nothing posted to verify this) massaged my feet, then took her hands directly to my face and head. That's not only unhealthy, it's disgusting. The clay tub I was asked to put my feet may or may not have been disinfected, I really have no idea, and was filled with hot water directly from a tea kettle the person giving the "service" used. I was left in a very uncomfortable chair with some sort of mask "with green tea in it" (and I have no idea what else) painted onto my shins. At the end of the treatment she took a steaming hot towel and tried to wipe it off, yet at the end of my day, whatever it was she painted onto my shins (and only my shins, claiming it would make my legs soft....) is still there. Still. I sincerely doubt the credibility of the staff at this salon, and am concerned about the hygiene and cleanliness of the facility. I recommend a visit by the health board immediately.
