Review: In the month of Feb. 2015 my son violated his probation, so I asked him to find an attorney, which was like walking in the dark. He found one by the name of Elliot D. Burick. He asked for $2,750.00 as a first installment. In the meantime my son got in trouble again and I knew this attorney had done nothing on the case and made absolutely no court appearances and had done nothing else. I fired him and asked for our money back. He has never responded in any way at all to us. I looked him up on the internet and found out that he has stolen other clients money. It was a considerable large amount of money and the State Bar Assoc. took action against him. I believe there are more cases. I only wish I had looked him up first. I do not have much money. We used our money back and will not be able to replace it. I do not understand how an attorney allowed to steal money that in no way belongs to them.Maybe I had gotten the money back, I might have been able to hire another attorney, as it stands my son will have to on the public defender. I have written to the attorney general.This man should not be practicing law. I have a receipt for this money, if you need it. I will get a copy made. [redacted]Desired Settlement: I do want and need my money back. My husband & I are not rich and we need this money. Also, my son is sitting in prison now. Maybe I could have hired a decent lawyer with the money that this man stole from us. I didn't research any other states, but I know he has practiced law in the other areas.I am sending you a copy of both receitps.
