Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:the white tape is not a contaminant and would not affect the functionality of the timerWhat would affect the functionality of the timer is if the timer was not manufactured correctly or if it was not properly tested for bugs but sold in the marketSince returning the timer, John has been arguing of a "contaminant" affecting the timer but has not proven beyond a reasonable doubt ? with a dated or time stamped picture depicting the white tape as the culprit behind any malfunctionHe has simply argued that a white tape was added along the threaded connector area of the timer, which is not reasonable enough to make the statement that the white tape would be the culprit behind the timer not operating correctly, especially due to the fact that 1) no date and time stamped picture from when the return arrived was ever provided showing the white tape inside the motor or mechanics that would cause the malfunction or bind and 2) the white tape was only shown around the ring of the threaded connector to prevent air leaks and not shown elsewhere or within the mechanics, and 3) there is no correlation between the white thread tape and the malfunction of the timer that can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt? Simply put, the argument by John has been a failed ruse to cover up the fact that the timer l, as I stated in my prior conversations with him, did not work properly or up to expectations on its own and not due to any farfetched story of contaminants that are too far away from the mechanics to cause any issue due to the fact that he does not want to give me a refund , even though this is against my consumer rights.Tape is not known or cannot be proven to cause all the allegations that he has still failed to connect together or prove beyond a reasonable doubtThat being said, I expect a full refund and should receive compensation for wasted time and stress.? Customer purchased a Kuhnke series pneumatic timer which is a very sophisticated piece of industrial equipmentThis timer is run on clean, dry, filtered air as stated in the literature that comes with itHe claims the timer did not work properly when he tried to use it and he now wants to use something differentWe issued the customer a return number to send it back on and about days after we received it my chief engineer had time to inspect it and write a report on itI have attached a picture of what caused the damage and a copy of my engineers report explaining itThe damage caused by the customer voids the warranty of this item and I cannot resell this to anyoneWe would be happy to install a new valve and clean this up as best we can and return it to the customer, a value of $for free but this would in no way imply a guarantee or warranty on the item and I could not say how long the timer would work forThese series timers are tested and calibrated before shipping from the factoryThe lifespan of this timer is million cyclesThe unit in question would not have worked at all when the contamination occurred, and it occurred the moment the air was delivered to itWe have been in business since and have never had a complaint filed against us or had our integrity questioned beforeWe sell hundreds of timers every year and this is the first time anyone has ever tried to get a refund after damaging the product themselves

I am rejecting this response because:Regarding the pneumatic timer, the instrument was not in workable condition to begin withI have emails that I can forward you to corroborate our conversations.Secondly, John claims that PTFE thread seal tape contaminated the devicePTFE thread deal tape is the white tape that is along the port that is simply non-sticking tape, not contaminating liquid or sealant, that can be easily extracted with tweezersBecause it is non-sticking and applied only to the port or threaded areas to prevent air leakage, this format of tape would not contaminate the device or cause it to not work properly as John claimsThe tape would not be sold as if it were to cause the claims that he statedAformentioned, thread tape would not cause the device to not work properlyThread tape is widely used to deter air seals and is not considered a contaminant. Please be aware that many devices sold on the market that do not function properly or may have a bug that cause inadequate performanceThis happens to be the case, especially since thread tape is not a threatening product to pneumatic performances where ambient air is moved around or converted to heat to enable mechanical motion. Anyone trying to pull the wool over your eyes by claiming that tape can contaminate an air blowing device or that their engineers did a thorough examination should be looked atIt is a very expensive device and, as the seller, would not want to process a refund either, especially if it is not sold too often. For the record, nowhere does the engineer show the actual causation of the device no working properly to be the white tapeJohn only shows a picture of the white tape along the outer thread ports of the device, which are a certain distance away from the mechanics of the deviceThe actual cause is still unknown and is likely due to faulty equipment, regardless of claimed arguments that may stem from corporate greedThe equipment should be considered a total loss due to faulty mechanics and nothing more, since there is no evidence that tape located away from the mechanics is the "contaminant" that arose the equipment. An engineer from my end could make the same argument regarding the device being faulty as well as research facts on how faulty device arise from manufacturing more frequently than expected due to a number of variablesThank you and I look forward to settling the matter. Thirdly, I announced to John my dissatisfaction with the expensive device within the alloted day period and the reasoning behind my request for a refundConsumer laws would supoort that I did everything in accordance to purchase appeal procedures and resolving the issueMy emails will show that there was an issue with the device's performance long before John got a hold of it.Thank you and I look forward to resolving the matter

Here are the photos side by side for comparisonThe new timer as you can see has no tape or sealant of any kindThe timer the customer received would look just like thisThe customer added the tape and unfortunately even a small amount can cause damage to the timer

something differentWe issued the customer a return number to send it back on and about days after we received it my chief engineer had time to inspect it and write a report on itI have attached a picture of what caused the damage and a copy of my engineers report explaining it. The damage caused by the customer voids the warranty of this item and I cannot resell this to anyoneWe would be happy to install a new valve and clean this up as best we can and return it to the customer, a value of $for free but this would in no way imply a guarantee or warranty on the item and I could not say how long the timer would work for. I am rejecting this response because:the white tape is not a contaminant and would not affect the functionality of the timer. What would affect the functionality of the timer is if the timer was not manufactured correctly or if it was not properly tested for bugs but sold in the market. Since returning the timer, John has been arguing of a "contaminant" affecting the timer but has not proven beyond a reasonable doubt  with a dated or time stamped picture depicting the white tape as the culprit behind any malfunction. He has simply argued that a white tape was added along the threaded connector area of the timer, which is not reasonable enough to make the statement that the white tape would be the culprit behind the timer not operating correctly, especially due to the fact that 1) no date and time stamped picture from when the return arrived was ever provided showing the white tape inside the motor or mechanics that would cause the malfunction or bind and 2) the white tape was only shown around the ring of the threaded connector to prevent air leaks and not shown elsewhere or within the mechanics, and 3) there is no correlation between the white thread tape and the malfunction of the timer that can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.  Simply put, the argument by John has been a failed ruse to cover up the fact that the timer l, as I stated in my prior conversations with him, did not work properly or up to expectations on its own and not due to any farfetched story of contaminants that are too far away from the mechanics to cause any issue due to the fact that he does not want to give me a refund , even though this is against my consumer rights.Tape is not known or cannot be proven to cause all the allegations that he has still failed to connect together or prove beyond a reasonable doubt. Customer purchased a Kuhnke 54 series pneumatic timer which is a very sophisticated piece of industrial equipment. This timer is run on clean, dry, filtered air as stated in the literature that comes with it. He claims the timer did not work properly when he tried to use it and he now wants to use...

something different. We issued the customer a return number to send it back on and about 5 days after we received it my chief engineer had time to inspect it and write a report on it. I have attached a picture of what caused the damage and a copy of my engineers report explaining it. The damage caused by the customer voids the warranty of this item and I cannot resell this to anyone. We would be happy to install a new valve and clean this up as best we can and return it to the customer, a value of $175.00 for free but this would in no way imply a guarantee or warranty on the item and I could not say how long the timer would work for. These 54 series timers are tested and calibrated before shipping from the factory. The lifespan of this timer is 3 million cycles. The unit in question would not have worked at all when the contamination occurred, and it occurred the moment the air was delivered to it. We have been in business since 1964 and have never had a complaint filed against us or had our integrity questioned before. We sell hundreds of timers every year and this is the first time anyone has ever tried to get a refund after damaging the product themselves.
