Pete Kwas very helpful, thorough, polite and professional

We have been using Elm to service our furnace and air-conditioner for years and years and have been happy with their service Jeff Cwas EXTREMELY thorough, checking things I don't remember being checked by other servicemen in the pastHe warned us we should change a pipe union but on closer inspection found that it was just looseHe could have changed the part and charged us for it, He suggested changing pipes in the near future and checking to see if the connection behind the gas dryer was made of the right material I feel bad that he hit his head on the low doorway to our laundry room, where our HVAC unit is locatedI've done the same thing and I remember how painful it is!

Jeff was very professional and did a great job in the pouring rain I appreciate how he handled the situation, I would recommend him

Love when Jeff comes to service my furnace and air unit Very trustworthy and knowledgable person

My experience in working with Elm Heating and Cooling has always been positive from installing two new furnaces and air conditioners to minor repairs and maintenanceI recently had a seasonal check up with Matt Hand he did a great job Jim C

Excellent, prompt service on A/C unit Explanation of repairs needed, with accurate cost estimates

This is a copy of the letter that I sent to Elm Heating It explains my reason for dissatisfactionNovember 19, Dear Elm Heating, I am not ordinarily a letter writer but I am so aggravated over my recent service call from your company that I have to send this letterI had a service appointment for yesterday, the 18th, for a furnace cleaning and tune up When I made the appointment, it was scheduled for 8AM I assumed, shame on me, that meant I would be the first appointment About 8:when no one was here yet, I called and was told that the tech was on another job and would be there shortly At about 9:I get a call that he is on the way Rich shows up at 10AM OK, I can live with this but the story only gets betterThe first thing the tech says is, “Boy that’s a big furnace.” I assume he means one that is bigger than I need I explain that there is an addition on the back of the house that the furnace is also heating He then asks if I have any concerns I tell him that we have been experiencing a vibration on start up He clicks on the furnace and says, “Oh that’s the induction blower I wouldn’t replace it I would just get a new furnace.” I look at him with a puzzled look but say nothing He then hooks his tester to the wiring for the blower capacitor, or at least he said he did I never saw him get rid of the charge in the capacitor first but maybe I missed it He then says that the capacitor is getting weak He again says that the furnace is old and should be replaced He then goes on to say that the furnace is an “off brand.” It is an Amana and I proceed to tell him that that is what Elm sold me when I needed a furnace His response: “Well I didn’t sell it to you but you must have wanted a cheaper one.” He then pulled the lead off of the flame arrestor and tests it As to the effort he put in, here’s what else he did He ran a wire brush once through each burner He never pulled them out for a thorough cleaning He also never pulled out the flame arrestor and ran an emery cloth over it He never removed any panel to take a look at the heat exchanger He just took a small pocket whisk broom and brushed some stuff off and then a wet rag to wipe a few things down He then goes on again about a new furnace and these parts would be too expensive One more thing, he never even brought in a vacuum to clean the furnace He then writes up the bill and puts on the receipt and makes it very clear to me that there is no warranty because the furnace is “SO” old and too many things are wrong He then gives me his card and circles his cell number to call him when I want to buy my new furnace minutes, $90, what a scam So this guy is worth $per hour? That’s what $for fifteen minutes comes out toSo after he left I sat here and decided to check out those “expensive parts.” The draft inducer, $ The flame arrestor $ The capacitor, $ Just about $in parts, maybe minutes in labor total, but I better be ready to buy a new furnace I should have called and stopped payment on that check because what I got was not worth anywhere near $either in work done or advice givenAll I can say is that is the last time I will ever call Elm If anyone asks if I know of a good HVAC place, I may not have one to recommend, but I sure as heck have one to tell them to stay away from: Elm HeatingRobert ***

Elm Heating is a great company! From the operator to the service person, they are all very efficient and helpful

[redacted] arrived on time and fully explained his work He recommended a different type of filter for us to use and offered that if we forget the size, to call the office because they keep all notes on each customer He offered two additional inspections, one of which we decided to do

I called Elm, and Technician Jeff Ccame out I know Elm because they installed a new furnace on an emergency basis last December which is still within the one year warranty period (and they got the job because they were the most responsive during that very busy season)I requested this visit because I suspected water that leaked from the AC coil into the furnace this summer may have been due to disturbance of the condensate drain during the furnace installation process and was causing damage to the new furnaceJeff Cvery patiently listened to my observations and suspicions, checked the furnace (minor rusting in one place), dismantled the AC coil housing, and determined that the old condensate pipe in question was plugged up and appeared to have been broken and puttied together during a previous AC installation and the obviously old putty had hardened and deterioratedHe gave me a comparison of costs to remove/reinstall the coil in order to access and repair the drain on this model, and clean it up (which it needed, I could see!) versus putting in a new coilNo pressure, but I opted for the new coilJeff Ceven attended to the humidifier for the heating season and taught me (patiently again) what to do for itThanks!
