Every Doctors office is supposed to call you at some point to remind you of an upcoming appointment. I NEVER received a phone call. I did not have a missed call nor any type of voicemail was left for me. I then received a bill in the mail for $50 due to my missing the appointment without 24 hour notice. When I received this bill, the receptionist had written that they would WAIVE the bill and told me to remember to cancel in advance next time (even though I never received a phone call on their end to remind me. When I mentioned this they blamed it on my phone which is not possible). Shortly after this incidence I decided to transfer to the same doctors office that my husband goes to. I am now continually getting a bill for the $50 dollars for that missed appointment and they are telling me I have to pay it. PLUS they told me if I want my records transferred I need to pay $75 dollars to get them.Desired SettlementI would like to stop being harassed by their office. I should not have to pay the $50 dollars for the missed appointment when 1) I never received a reminder of the appointment and 2) I was told that bill would be waived.Business Response I'm sorry that you had such a frustrating experience with my office. In reviewing your file, I find that I did waive your missed appointment fee, and you should not have been billed for this. In light of the aggravation this has caused you, we will be copying your chart and forwarding it to VMG as requested, at no cost to you. It was a pleasure and an honor to be your physician. I wish you all the best in the future.
