Elmore Road Animal Hospital Reviews (1)

I was told blood work results were normal when in fact they were not. My animal needed to be hospitalized & instead they sent us home. 4/25/14 I went in to get blood work done and find out what was wrong with my dog because she wouldn't eat and after 350 dollars worth of test all I was told was she was malnutritioned and her teeth were bad. I read the results today and they show her liver, kidney, and sugar levels were double what they should have been, and they did nothing to help her. When I went to confront her about it she said over and over ma'am I told you all of this when you came in and you declined seeing a specialist but I am here to tell you they never told me any of that because I would have much rather paid a specialist to take care of my dog then to pay them to neglect her. I asked for my money back because she never told me any of the information in her results and she refused. I don't mind paying for good service but that is not what I received. She never hospitalized her like she needed to be which ultimately caused her death. All they did was send me home with my dying dog and gave me medicine for her ears and high calorie food to feed her. That was not going to help the problems that she had and they should have known that. I feel like they should have done everything in their power to save her instead of sending me home in hopes the food would keep her alive. Desired SettlementI would like the money back I spent at Elmore vet and the money from the second vet I took her too. Elmore animal did nothing to help my dog and I at least deserve something for the lose of my dog since they have a hand it what happened to her. Business Response At ERVC, we understand that anger is often a part of the grieving process, and we are sorry for Ms. [redacted]'s loss. However, during her time of grievance, there is no truth to her allegations. Ms. [redacted] visited our clinic on 4/25/14 with her pet for vaccinations. After a physical exam, I deemed that her pet was emaciated and too ill for vaccinations. I performed a CBC, chemistry panel and urinalysis. The changes on the blood work and the physical exam were consistent with a portosystemic shunt so a bile acids test was performed. The results for the bile acids tests were pending for several days. The pet was given an antibiotic injection and started on medications and medicated food. The owner wanted me to sedate the pet and clean the dogs teeth. I informed the owner that I would not sedate the dog for a dental prophy because the dog was too ill. I was concerned the dog would not survive the anesthesia. I further recommended that the pet be seen by a specialist, but the owner declined. The results for the bile acids test came back slightly elevated but not high enough to indicate a shunt or true liver disease. Another doctor in my practice saw the pet on 5/1/14 and explained these results to Mrs. [redacted], and recommended that she take the pet to a specialist or at least bring her in to our clinic for an ultrasound of the abdomen. The client never returned for the ultrasound. The pet was not examined by a doctor at our clinic again until 7/11/14 when it had a respiratory infection. On 7/22/14, we received a request by another clinic to fax medical records on the owner's pet. At the time of her complaint with your organization (7/28/14) and by not following instructions as prescribed by both doctors, it is certainly possible that the pet's blood levels would have been elevated more in that three month period since the initial blood work was conducted. Our clinic has authenticated electronic time and date stamped data to confirm that the information in this response is accurate should you require further confirmation.Consumer Response Based on a conversation the Revdex.com had with the consumer, she does not accept their response.
