I have asked Elontec, (Tradisha) to let me call them (her) when I am ready to purchase furniture, since then she has called different members of our office to get in our door, she called again today and I told her we are not interested, she then went around me to an employee's e-mail directly after me telling her no, to try to get someone else to get her in the door. WE WILL DEFINITELY NOT CALL ELONTEC WHEN WE ARE READY TO PURCHASE FURNITURE.

Review: Considering a previous business relationship with Elontec, we contacted them to provide a quote for a custom built reception desk to match an existing reception desk. In addition to needing the materials to match as closely as possible, we requested that the desks be exactly the same size. [redacted] came out to take the measurements and provide us with a quote. After some delay on our behalf and further negotiation we decided to move forward with the purchase. By this time, the order became time sensitive due to the need for an employee to move locations. [redacted] did make an effort to provide us with the desk in the timeframe we requested.

When the desk finally arrived and was put together it was clear that the two desks were drastically different heights. Since the desks sit next to each other, we asked that it be returned and fixed to the height we originally requested. When the desk was returned and installed the second time, the measurements were still inaccurate and the shelving for the desk was too short. So again, we had to wait for the errors to be corrected. Needless to say, our time sensitive deadline was not even close to being met.

Upon receiving the invoice, we were charged an additional $160 for returning the desk to be cut down to the correct measurements. Following was my response to the invoice:

Hi [redacted],

There is an error with the invoice. We should not be responsible for the change fee. We requested that the desk be exactly the same size as the existing one. There was clearly an error in measurements.

Additionally, even after it was sent back, when it arrived the measurements were still incorrect, plus the shelving had to be sent back due to inaccurate measurements.

Please remove the additional charges for the change and resend. I will forward for payment as soon as I receive the updated invoice.

Thank you for your help.

After several phone calls and emails following up with [redacted], she agreed to remove the $160 and forwarded an updated invoice reflecting the change. The invoice was paid in full according to the agreed upon terms. During the past few months, we have received several phone calls from Elontec requesting payment of the $160. Each time, the email from [redacted] with the updated invoice was sent to their accounting department to show no balance due.

On October 26, 2015, we were contacted by [redacted], who was once again requesting payment of $160. In response, I forwarded the corrected invoice and email from [redacted] and asked that he update their system to avoid continuous contact requesting payment. Following is the email exchange with our response and Elontec's reply:

Hi [redacted],

The $160 was removed from the invoice to collect payment for the agreed upon quote and moved to its own invoice. The $160 was for the cut down of the reception station and only billed at my cost. The approved estimate had the sizes listed on it and were built to the approved document. By requesting them to cut them down smaller had a coast associated with it. With all the accommodations I have made for you to get this completed I think it is only fair to cover my cost for your changes after the product was built. I believe this is a valid invoice and need to be satisfied. If you do not agree please let me know and I can look at other avenues for collecting this. again I felt this was fair and valid for what was completed.

Hi [redacted],

I hope you are well. In July, [redacted] removed the $160 from our invoice, see below and attached invoice. Since then, we have been contacted at least three times by Elontec requesting for payment for the $160. Please make the correction in your system for future. Thank you for your help. Have a great week!

Based on the details mentioned in this complaint, following are the reasons this complaint is being filed:

1. The measurements in the signed quote were taken by [redacted], representing himself as a qualified professional in this area. It is the responsibility of the professionally hired company to take accurate measurements according to the customer request. The customer should not be expected to double check the work of a trusted professional.

2. The "accommodations" that were supposedly painstakingly taken by Elontec are sadly misconstrued. The finished product was not correct, very shoddily constructed and in no way was our time sensitive deadline met. Although special billing terms were arranged, this is not equivalent to the hardships we endured awaiting our completed product.

3. The $160 was removed from our invoice by the Elontec accounting department. We were under the complete impression that this charge was removed permanently, not moved to another invoice.

4. In addition to the unethical business practices described in #3, the threatening demeanor in the email "If you do not agree please let me know and I can look at other avenues for collecting this." is highly inappropriate for this situation. Each time we have been contacted regarding payment for $160, the corrected invoice was forwarded and no one followed up or responded to dispute our claim. Essentially, since the purchase in June, this is the first time we were notified that Elontec is revoking their agreement to remove the charge.Desired Settlement: The desired outcome of this situation would be to have the $160 credited permanently as originally agreed. If preferable, Elontec may also provide a full and complete refund of all work and services provided and then reclaim the desk.
