Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/04/17) */

There is no doubt this project has been challenging since the beginning. We have a great reputation. We have never had...

to advertise because we rely soley on referrals. In no way does it work to our advantage to leave customers unhappy. However some customers do not want to be happy. We will still attempt to resolve this matter, if the customer is at all reasonable.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/04/17) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept this response because [redacted] did contact me today via e-mail and sent a document that lists out costs for additions they feel were done throughout this job that were already part of the original bid amount. They are refusing to finish the job that they committed to doing. [redacted] came to my house on 3/23/2015 and we went through the list of items that still needed to be completed and he said that he knew of all the items, agreed to them and said he would complete them that same week. He never responded or contacted us since until I filed this complaint through the Revdex.com. In retaliation for filing this complaint through your organization, they are now saying they won't complete our job and want more money for things that were already a paid for as part of the original bid.
I can send a detail spreadsheet that I have had to keep track of for the original bid amount and all payments made to them and all items we have had to purchase or pay for per [redacted]'s instruction.
I do very much want to be happy but [redacted] and [redacted] have made it their goal over the last year to make me and my family miserable. We did not choose to sleep on mattresses on the floor after they destroyed our existing bedroom with the ceiling collapsing on our bed in the middle of the night, live on plywood floors for almost a year, mud and holes surrounding our house outside and living in these conditions for this extended time. Our porch is still supported by the same 2/4 boards on the ground for almost a year and hope this has not caused any damage to the porch roof.
My only hope is that they stand up and fulfill their commitment to completing the job that they bid and stop playing games and blaming us for their shortcomings. Me and my family are the ones that have suffered throughout this entire process. We just want our home complete so we can get back to living our lives.
Final Business Response /* (1000, 14, 2015/05/04) */
05/08/15: Mediator called business and left voice mail message on primary and cell number.
05/11/15: ([redacted]) We had the drawing of the project and they decided not to add any extras. Then they added extras throughout the project. They did not want to pay additional toward the end. We backed away from the project because we feared we would not be paid. We want to get it resolved but she wants to control and micro manage the project and they could not make decisions and the project dragged on. The bedroom was going to be demoed and we replaced the drywall. The carpet was charged to our bill. She made us a deal if we gave her a retaining wall out back to offset the price of the bed. We don't know what to offer as a resolution. I gave them the bay window and told them I would throw it in. We tiled the kitchen, bathroom, etc. All the extras add up to about $15,000 they added to the project. I had a crew lined up last Tuesday and she would not let us come because she wanted the concrete done first and not the rails. I can't continue to give work away for free. My employees have refused to go to the project because the husband had so many questions taking up their time. I will talk to my partner and get back to you. They ended up remodeling the entire house out of the $89,000. The loan was for the addition. We will not make any profit and are in the hole on this project.

05/20/15: Mediator called business and primary number's mailbox is full. Called [redacted] cell phone number and left a voice mail message.
05/20/15: [redacted]) I don't know what will resolve the complaint at this point. They owe me for extras that were provided and they are denying the charges. I will look for email communications with the discussion on what she owes.
05/26/15: [redacted] I have the documents ready and will send documents with resolution today.
05/26/15: This is the email I sent to Broekers along with the extras they have been refusing to pay.
The only resolution I really have is they can take the damage amount from the extra total they owe.

> Most of the expense sheet looked accurate as far as where money has been used. There are a few adjustments that we included in out invoice of extras. These are nothing new just the things you guys have added throughout the project and have acted like you should not have to pay for which is why we can not finish until these issues are resolved.

> If we can resolve this then we would be more than happy to put this behind us and move on.
