Elyria Fence, Inc. Reviews (11)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Regards,
*** *** No verbal quote was given, but I did receive a written estimate on 5/18/16. I am placing that estimate on hold pending a written inspection report that was performed by an outside company on 6/8/16. I do not consider this matter resolved until I review the inspection findings

Mr*** was given an estimate for the repair to his fenceThe posts on his fence were broken off at the ground levelWe do not know if this was caused by wind or damaged by himself or someone elseTo further explain, treated posts are warranted for a period of twenty five years against rotHe
received a written warranty at the time of the original completion of his projectMr*** expects this company to repair his fence at no charge to him despite the fact that the posts are broken and not rotted.Elyria Fence offered to do the repair for labor cost only but that is not agreeable to himWe decided to not send another person over to look at his broken posts as we determined that anything we offered would not be acceptable to him.As it is now our offer still stands, we will supply new posts to him at no charge, but, the cost of the labor to install the posts will be extra

The ***'s Buick Lucerne has been driven approximately 70,miles. Earnhardt performed several repairs, including several oil leak repairs. One oil leak repair required re-sealing the lower half of the engine. Although that repair was performed by a very
experienced technician who was certain that the engine mounts were intact at the conclusion of the repair, the dealership replaced the engine mount that was found to be broken when the customers returned after the oil leak repairs. There was no charge to the ***s for the replacement of the engine mount and its replacement fully resolved the vibration issue with the vehicle. The service director for the dealership and a service advisor rode with the customer when she returned sometime later complaining of increased engine noise. Neither the director nor the advisor heard any noise that was other than normal. It was noted, however, that the customer was accelerating aggressively, which naturally increased the noise from the engine. The service director has offered to re-inspect the vehicle after it has been driven a few more weeks. He also has reminded the ***s that the dealership's work is warranted for months for parts and labor. Mary L*** ***/General Counsel

We have been in contact with Mr***We have ordered new lumber to replace the lumber that is oozing sapThat shipment should be in this week or in the beginning of next weekWe will schedule removal of the old boards and installation of new ones as soon as we can after the shipment arrives
Unfortunately wood is a natural product and even though all of the lumber we order is kiln dried, some pine has more sap in it than othersThis is a natural occurrence and is never covered under the lumber supplier's warrantyNormally the oozing of sap dries up after a period of time, but in Mr***'s case there seems to be an excess of this oozing and it makes his deck unusableSo, in order to satisfy Mr*** and supply him with the deck that he expected the Elyria Fence Cowill replace this material at our cost

Consumer response taken over the phone by Revdex.com staff 6/25/15.He is working with Company to resolve the issues

Mr. [redacted] did receive a verbal quote from our salesman Greg H[redacted] when he first contacted us. He was not acceptable to the proposal we gave him at the time so a written proposal was not submitted to him. His position at the time was that he wanted us to fix his damaged fence at no charge to him.The warranty he refers to is the warranty on the posts. When I talked to him on April 25 I informed him of that. The warranty does not cover the labor to replace the posts or repair the fence panels that are damaged. After talking to our salesman Greg H[redacted] about his experience with Mr.[redacted] we decided not to revisit the site.On May 18 Mr. H[redacted] visited the site again and left a written quote for Mr. [redacted]. The total amount of the quote is$680.00 the material cost is included. The material cost is $230.00. We are willing to waive the cost of the material even though the cost of the wood to repair his fence panels is included in that. That leaves a balance of $440.00 that Mr. [redacted] would have to pay. We would expect to be paid in advance before we do any work.

The dealership feels as if it fully has responded to the [redacted]' concerns by its test drive with the parts and service director and the service advisor, its offer to re-inspect the vehicle in a few weeks and it re-iterated commitment to the warranty on its work.  As its final offer, however, Earnhardt Buick GMC is willing to pay for diagnosis of the vehicle by its sister store, Earnhardt Chevrolet.  If an issue attributable to Earnhardt Buick's work is identified by Earnhardt Chevrolet, repair of that issue will be covered by the warranty on Earnhardt Buick's repairs.      Mary L[redacted]/General Counsel

The Elyria Fence Co. will replace boards determined to be seeping sap or warped boards. This is to be done at our cost even though there is no warranty on these items. We will not cover the cost of staining or the material involved in staining. There is nothing in our contract with the owner that includes staining or the material involved in staining. These conditions must be agreed to before we proceed with our replacement boards.

-The vehicle was returned the very next morning because after taking back possession of my vehicle I had to pick my wife up from work (We only have the one vehicle)by the time I got from the dealership and picked her up from work the service center was closed.- Vibration was only one of the issues after I got me vehicle back, there was also loud noise, not just that caused from the broken mount.- Neither the director nor the advisor heard any noise that was other than normal."This is not what my wife has told me, she stated that the individuals riding admitted they could hear noise, and in fact told her that they could hear it, but the tech couldn't find out what it was from.-As for the "Aggressive accelerating" I very much doubt this, I know my wife's driving habits very well and I also know that the small area around the dealership is quite small and 25mph.However, that is one of the issues of this noise it is making, applying any pressure to the accelerator makes it sound like your putting the pedal to the floor, and when you actually do accelerate it becomes much, much louder.I have never know a Northstar engine to make any noise, I have driven many, many miles in my car and, as I said prior to there there was almost 0 engine sound.- This is correct, but the fact that my wife was told this noise was "normal" and then that it didn't exist at all is a very serious issue, this is my only vehicleas I said and I need it to be function properly, when you get your car back from the shop and it sounds worse than it ever has in the history of owning it that'san issue.-And how does that stand up against the fact that..A.) No one seems to know why it's doing this now.B.) Buick claims this is "Normal" when I, the owner and individual who has spent the most time in that vehicle since it was made knows it is not.C.) It's never been like this before, this is only post Buick.D.) If this is something that happened during their work?

We apologize to [redacted] for the long delay in repairing his operator. Apparently we dropped the ball on this project. We have repaired the operator now and we hope that it will work well for him. There will be no charge for the repair since we did not give him the prompt service that he...

deserved.
