Embassy Suites Reviews (1)

Review: I booked 2 rooms for 3 nites beginning aug 16th 2013. I had to change the number of nites to 2 nites. I called the hotel twice to get the reservation changed and was transferred to someone I could not understand (extreme accents) I had to just hang up twice. I decided I would have to inform the hotel about the changes I needed to make when I arrived on the 16th. As I was checking in around 5pm the Dir. of front office was calling my home phone to see I was going to use my reserv. The clerk told me if I made a change I would have to pay a penalty. I asked to speak to his boss misty the DFO, and she said the email says I would be charged a fee for a change. It reads "Any change to the arrival date, departure date or room type of this reservation is subject to the hotel's availability at the time the change is requested and may result in a possible rate change or an additional fee. Note the may result and possible fee." She said I would have to pay $75/per room penalty for cancelling the 3rd nite. With the way its worded she could charge me $1000 if she so chose. She said with a smirk on her face "agree to pay it or leave." She could see I was a lone 70 year old elderly person on a walker with no transportation. And with every hotel booked solid she held me under hostage to have to agree or sleep on the floor. I wrote the hilton customer complaint dept and they said there was a 3 day minimum for those rooms which is a lie. No where does it state those requirements. This was not a holiday weekend or anytime special. They blindsided me. Their policy is ambiguous unfair and unclear. There is no fee amount written down and why did she call my home to see if I was coming? I travel alot and have never had any one call me to see if I was coming. My rooms were reserved with a credit card. They seem to be making rules as they go along. I feel raped, abused and robbed. iiDesired Settlement: I want the $75/per ($150) room penalty refunded back to me. I don't want to pay for something that I did not use and for the hotel to be more clear as to what amounts these charges will be so a person can make an educated decision to accept their policy or not. And an apology would be nice about lying about the 3 day minimum story.
