Lack of accountability, poor service and failures galore
**Very Disappointing Experience – Emerald Business Solutions**
I used Emerald Business Solutions for approximately four years, paying monthly for bookkeeping and accounting services for my corporation. Despite years of payments, my GST filings and annual corporate returns remained significantly behind.
For an entire year, I attended monthly meetings to ensure Emerald had the documentation needed to complete the work. Unfortunately, the delays continued. In my experience, their internal queuing system repeatedly pushed my accounting work to the back of the line, preventing outstanding work from being completed in a reasonable timeframe.
After receiving advice from the CRA and federal government representatives, I decided to terminate Emerald's services and stop the monthly payments. Only then was the outstanding bookkeeping completed, followed by a substantial additional invoice for work I believed I had already been paying them to perform.
When I questioned the delays, Emerald blamed incomplete documentation, despite my repeated efforts to address that issue throughout the previous year.
I disputed the additional charges, and Emerald has now referred the alleged $6,942.40 balance to a collection agency.
**My biggest concern is the lack of accountability, timely service, and transparency.** After four years of monthly payments and considerable effort on my part, I expected my corporation's accounting and tax filings to be properly managed.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Emerald Business Solutions to business owners looking for reliable, timely accounting services.
