Emerald City Wash World

Review: I decided to use this laundromat because the facilities in my unit were too small. I didn't have any issues with the washing machine but I did encounter issues with using the dryers. I did notice that some dryers were labeled "out of service" so I put my clothes in a dryer that didn't have a label that was in working condition. There was one dryer in particular that was not heating properly compared to another dryer I was using. I made the attendant aware of the situation and she told me that I had to leave my name and phone number and the owner would contact me whenever he arrived back in town. I asked her how the process worked and she stated that the owner would come put money in the dryer and if he felt it was warm enough he would not give a refund; but if it was cold he would issue a refund. I then asked the attendant if I didn't have any more change would I have to leave with wet clothes and she stated yes. There was not any sign posted stating that if you lose your money or if there is a discrepancy with any piece of equipment it will take "X" amount of time to be processed and refunded.Desired Settlement: The attendant should have refunded me immediately in order to dry my clothes instead of me leaving with wet clothes.

Better Business of Delaware 60 Reads Way New Castle, DE 19720 Dear Lexe Kasey: I am sorry to hear we had a complaint for our service at Emerald City Wash World, Inc., it is our hope to provide the public with the ability to wash and dry their clothes in a pleasant environment. We have talked to all of our staff and none of them remember the incident. I don't have any forms filled out with the customer's name and number noted on machine complaints. It is our policy at Emerald City when there is a complaint that a machine is not working properly that our staff promptly check the machine to assure its working correctly. In the case of a dryer not functioning, the attendant will check to assure it is heating up by touching the glass door and that it is turning properly. If the glass door is not hot and or not turning, we give an immediate refund on the spot. If both of these things are working, she will take the number and name of the customer and submit it to the owner who is there four days a week. The owner will then test the machine with a load of clothes, If the machine is found to have a malfunction we will refund the customer in 7-10 days. I'm extremely sorry that the customer had a bad experience while at Emerald City and am willing to give a $2.50 credit that can be used towards wash or dry. We hope this help resolve the incident.
