Review: [redacted] Emerald came to our rented home to see what was needed to make the sprinkler system function. He delivered a quote to repair/replace the system with our understanding that the system would function adequately after his work was completed.
The new timer appears to be functioning well; however, the sprinkler repair work was shoddy at best and somewhat dishonest for the money collected.
For example, the way the replaced timer has been set for Program A, Station 1 - the front lawn east middle sprinkler head is oriented by watering the neighbors yard rather than our lawn. Other sprinkler heads were not oriented sufficiently to cover a vast north side lawn portion of the current dried out/dead grass area as strikingly apparent and would also have been discovered had the sprinkler system been tested once the repairs were done.
Program A, Station 2 - the sprinkler head is missing and is shooting water out of the pipe like a fountain thereby reducing the water pressure for the other areas out front to water those areas sufficiently. Once again, had the repair work been realistically tested, this would have been readily apparent as the gurgling sound of the broken sprinkler fitting can be heard and easily detected.
Program A, Station 3 - the backyard east side lawn needs to be verified for adequate and optimal coverage.
Program A, Station 4 - the backyard east side hill should be checked for adequate and optimal coverage.
Program A, Station 5 - the backyard west side hill same as 3 & 4 above.
The west side backyard lawn doesn't appear to water through the sprinklers at all.
My understanding of the original intent of this work effort was to see what would be needed to restore the functionality of the sprinkler system.
As a result, this work was not repaired correctly, tested sufficiently, and completed with integrity.Desired Settlement: Complete the work to restore full functionality of the sprinkler system or refund us for the less than sufficient work done.

Response:
Here is a copy of the bid which was sent to [redacted]. and approved by owner of the [redacted] Tenant had AHP and said sprinkler system was working at all, none of the sprinkler system, and bid on getting system up + running. ( Not to change lines + sprinklers in yard that did not have coverage) Bid was to install new outdoor timer, new wiring front + back repair broken sprinkler, back grass + 1 impact sprinkler. System now works as I per bid.
Sincerely,
Consumer
Response:
Good morning and thank you for the request for clarification. I am the owner of the property.

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
As you can see from the e-mail chain below beginning on 25 January 2013, we were informed that we would be receiving a new automated sprinkler system, or at least one that functioned properly for a number of years. Any form of testing of the sprinkler system after the new timer was installed by [redacted] would've revealed the discrepancies I documented below. (Note how [redacted]'s warranty changed from 2 years to 1 year...)

Hi [redacted],
The new timer appears

and somewhat dishonest for the money collected.

As a result, could
this work please be repaired correctly, tested sufficiently, and completed with
integrity as demonstrated with [redacted] present for a little familiarization
orientation on the functionality of the timer, along with her quality control
oversight for verifying a good job was done?

Any word on why this reportedly wasn't accomplished in July as

Thanks for the update. Did we ask how long the sprinkler repair work was
guaranteed to last? I'd like to have the work done, but would like some
reassurance that the system will last for some time afterwards.

Hi [redacted],
Below is tenant's email regarding the final bill for the
remodeling.
I had a note to HOLD
OFF until bathroom remodel is done. You want to have the sprinkler
repairs done now or just wait?

[redacted],
1) I can hardly
make heads or tails with what he's writing (scribbling) in his estimate.
2) For $750, is he willing to standby the quality of his work and include
a warranty of any new system for 5 years at least?
3) We've put a
lot of money into the house lately and I'm hesitant about shelling-out $750
just now.

Hello [redacted],
We recently did a walk
through at the property and noticed a few things.
1. Tenant is reporting the sprinkler in
the back yard is not working.
2. The kitchen angle stop is starting to get corroded.
3. The garbage disposal is starting to rust on the bottom but there are no
leaks yet.
4. The button for the garage door opener does not work.
Please
let me know if you want to send a vendor out for these items.
Regards,
