Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2015/02/02) */
On 11/12/14, Aaron Jump Brought his 2004 Ford F150 truck to Friendly Ford for a knocking noise. Aaron explained that [redacted] had changed his oil and caused a leak which resulted in damages to his engine. A repair order was written and [redacted]...

headquarters was contacted on behalf of Aaron. [redacted] agreed to replace the engine On Aarons F150 with a salvage yard unit due to the trucks age and mileage at 213,872 miles. Aaron wanted a remanufactured long block engine installed instead of a salvage unit and agreed to pay the difference. [redacted] agreed to pay $[redacted] and the remainder of $[redacted] was to be paid by Aaron. Long block engine replacement along with a recall was completed on 11/25/14 and the vehicle was picked up by Aaron. On 12/1/2014, Aaron brought his vehicle back to Friendly Ford to have a check engine lamp looked at. The vehicle was diagnosed and code p0430 was received. further diagnosis found that there was a chemically inactive catalytic convertor on bank 2, and a small vacuum leak from a vacuum line. Aaron declined the replacement of the catalytic convertor, the vacuum line was repaired and Aaron was not charged. The check engine lamp will continue to be on due to the faulty catalytic convertor which was not part of the long block replacement. On 12/16/14 Aaron brought his vehicle in for a noise and a possible transmission shifting quality issue. The vehicle was test driven and diagnosed. The transmission shifted normally but there was a noise when the engine was started. Aaron had mentioned to his service advisor Tom Taylor, that the torque convertor bolts were loose. It was found that the inspection plate on the transmission bell housing had been removed and installed backwards, also the torque convertor bolts were not tight. The technician removed all the torque convertor bolts, installed new ones using lock tight and installed the inspection plate correctly. the vehicle was driven and released to Aaron. On 12/17/14 I received a call from Aaron, he stated that his truck was making the same noise again less than 24hrs after he picked it up. I asked him to drive it right over so we could inspect the vehicle. Approximately 4 hours later Aaron called and stated that on his drive to the dealer, the truck made a noise and started leaking coolant. The truck was towed to the dealership and Aaron was given a vehicle to drive while his truck was looked at. The technician repairing the vehicle found a total of 19 bolts missing from the vehicle including the 3 on the torque convertor that were replaced less than 24 hours ago. Both motor mounts were missing all the bolts, the water pump pulley was missing all of its bolts, the air conditioning compressor mounting bolts were missing, the drive belt was shredded, and there was a large hole in the radiator. I spoke with Aaron on the phone and explained what we had found. I asked Aaron if someone could have possibly been tampering with his vehicle simply because it is suspicious that that many bolts could have worked loose and fallen out, especially the ones that were replaced using lock tight less than 24hrs earlier. At that point Aaron became threatening, angry, and using profanity. Aaron was asked to stop conversing in this manner or the conversation would end. Aaron continued to do so and the phone call was terminated. Friendly ford replaced all of the missing bolts, installed a new radiator and fan belt. The truck was driven 250 miles by Friendly Ford without incident before it was returned to Aaron. It was explained to Aaron that pictures and video of the truck were taken to document the condition before it left the dealership. If it was tampered with in any way, there would be no warranty. Since the truck has been returned to Aaron, he has made several calls to the dealership which are recorded, threatening to do bodily harm to his service advisor. Aaron was advised to stop calling, and cease the threatening phone calls. Friendly Ford has gone above and beyond and made every effort possible to satisfy Aaron. Friendly Ford will not refund the cost of the long block engine replacement and or diagnosis fees.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2015/02/03) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I never threaten also it's quite funny that the only things that was messed up with my truck was what your techs had worked on. The techs just did not do there job and after you guys had worked on reprogramming it surges at 1000 to 2000 rpm and since ac compressor had fell ac don't work right and you guys had charged me for what you messed up on truck. Also I have lost a lot of money going up there plus how would someone mess with it when it was in my garage I feel like you guys don't want to pay for ur mistakes I feel it's fair to refund the cost of at least the install since you guys didn't do that and had caused such a headache plus the 135.00 since everything that was wrong or as u say sabitoshed was everything you guys had worked on nothing else so fix your mostake
Final Business Response /* (4000, 17, 2015/02/05) */
Mr.Jump was charged to diagnose a transmission shifting concern, the receipt does not state a charge for torque convertor bolts and to attach the inspection cover correctly because he was not charged for that. The were no transmission repairs performed when the engine was replaced, therefore there was a charge to diagnose a shifting concern. Friendly Ford is not offering a refund for repairs to Mr. Jumps truck, the engine was installed as requested by Mr. Jump and returned to him fully operational. Any further repairs are Mr. Jumps responsibility.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 19, 2015/02/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The transmission wasn't shifting correctly because the torque converter bolts was out plus you said you had to program engine and transmission together. Not only that the engine still surges and will not hold it's self on a hill since you reprogrammed it and the trans charge and all other problems was caused by your shop poor work I don't even want you guys to work on it plus my ac don't work since it fell off because of you guys and when I had to talk to justin he said that he had talked about giving refund I had been through a lot of trouble with this someone spends over [redacted] dollars expects to have work done right. So I feel I should get refund for install and other repairs I had already had spoke with our business lawyer her said that that would be easy to get done and a lot more I am not asking for much I want you guys to take care of your mistakes everyone makes mistakes but fix them and yes I requested engine to be put in but I expected it to be done right not falling apart and working correctly and the engine install wasn't fully operational if it was I would not be having this talk with you you can even fess up to the things you did wrong
