Review: In June of 2012, I took my boat seats to be reupholstered by Emory's Upholstery in Stockton. I asked the owner at the [redacted] to reupholster my boat the same way just with new marine fabric. At that [redacted] he told me it would be $2700 with 1/2 up front and the other half when the boat was done. I was told it would take about a week. Over the next 8 weeks we kept attempting to get out seats back. The second week of September 2013. we finally recieved out seats they were not even close to looking like the original design. Emory's would not give us our seats back unless we paid the other $1350. At this point we just wanted our seats back. The boat was not used the rest of 2012 as the summer was already over. The boat was covered for the winter and uncovered at the begining of the summer of 2013. by the end of the summer 2013 we notice alot of color change in the fabric and dryness. At the end of the summer the boat was again covered. At the beginning of summer 2014 the boat was uncovered only to find the fabric is very dry and brittle. I took one of the seat to [redacted], which is where Emeroy's said they bought my fabric from. I was told the fabic on my BOAT seats was CAR upholstery not marine fabric that is why they were dry and brittle. Car fabric is not intended to have prolonges sun exposure, that is why it is dryed out and brittle. I went back to Emory's to ask they redo the seat. [redacted] original told me they would redo it at a cost of $1200 dollars. Over the next two 1/2 months I have made several appointment with [redacted]. AS he was doing me a "FAVOR" He has repeatively cancelled. He now tell me he will not be redoing the seats at all because he is not responible. He states his father [redacted] who passed away 6 months ago was responsible. He is now the new owner and not responsible for what his father did when he owned the business. At this point I believe FRAUD was committed by Emory's Upholstery for using CAR fabric instead of MARINE fabric.Desired Settlement: I would like my boat seat to be recovers in the marine fabric which they were supposed to be covered in the first place...If they are not willing to recover the seats I would like my $2700 dollars returned so I can take my boat to another upholstery shop to have them done properly

Miss [redacted] brought her seats in our shop on May 3, 2012 not June and she picked them up May 24, 2012.[redacted] had her leave a $2000.00 deposit, which is not un-common and pay the balance when the job was completed. He never told her 2700.00, it was 2500.00 plus tax. Where she comes up with $1350.00 I have no idea. Mrs. [redacted] should have her receipt. If the seats got dry and brittle and cracked, she probably didn't take proper care of them and use "sun-of a gun" or armarol to keep them soft.[redacted] never, ever asked Mrs. [redacted]'s to pay an additional 1350.00, we were in business for some 40 years and have always treated our customers fair, if something went wrong all the customer had to do was bring it back and we would fix it if it was due to something we failed to do.[redacted] was very good with his customers, he loved people. He was what you call "a people person," and the last thing he would ever do was cheat someone, in fact there were times he would fix things for people and never charge them.I don't understand why she waited so long to complain. She waited until [redacted] past away in 2014.I don't know what to tell her.Sometimes you can't satisfy people no matter what you do.Sincerely,Mrs. [redacted]
