Emmanuel Auto Repairs Reviews (1)

Review: On March 29, 2013 I had my car, a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, which has refused to run towed to Emmanuel Auto Repair for repairs. Over the four days, he told me the car was difficult to repair and was a challenge and he liked challenges and asked me to just give him a few days to find out the problem. On April 3, 2013 I drove my car out of Emmanuel Auto Repair's garage. he had repaired O2 sensors, spark plugs and airflow sensors. The bill was $595.00. I drove the car to work approx. 4-5 city blocks and back the next day - car was hesitant on the way home. My son drove it the next day , car broke down again and needed to be towed to our home. I called Mr. Emmanuel and he told me to have the car towed back to him at my expense. I told him that I had exhausted my Triple A towing and since he was supposed to have repaired the car that I felt he should tow it. I also told him that I had doubts if the repair was proper since diagnostic codes from Auto Zone showed the same before and after his repairs. The next morning my son and I walked to the shop to ask him to resolve the problem. He was not there but his sons called him on the phone. He began to get loud and argumentative with me over the phone. He yelled at me that the best he can do is have me pay $400 for a catalytic converter that he would put on. I told him that if that was the problem initially that should have been done before he considered the car repaired.

On April 6th , the car was towed to [redacted]'s Auto where the technician determined that the car needed to have vacuum leaks repaired, a throttle body, a pedal with throttle position sensor put in, fuel treatment. Furthermore the technician upon diagnostic testing determined and gave me written statement that the Emmanuel's service to my vehicle was unwarranted. [redacted]'s repairs were $893.96. In between the repairs, frustrated that I would have to place a total of $1600 on the car, I attempted to trade it in. I was told at the dealer that they could not accept the car until repaired since it was not driveable.

Prior to this incident, my car was under warranty and was only serviced at the dealer with latest inspection in July 2012.Desired Settlement: I am seeking to recover the $595 paid to Emmanuel Auto for the misdiagnosis of my car's ailment. My car is working very well now without the 'catalytic converter" that Mr. Emmanuel insisted I needed.

The fact that I had the same diagnostic codes before and after Mr. Emmanuel's repairs lead me to believe that his repairs were improper or inferior (unsubstantiated)
