We responded to the customer and had the vehicle towed to the dealership at no charge. We had a certified technician inspect the vehicle and found a different failure, cracked cylinder head and possibly both cylinder heads cracked at no charge. We notified the customer that we needed
authorization for engine disassembly to repair and also offered to help with cost of repairing the engine, replacing the engine or the purchase of a comparable vehicle. The customer stated that the only option that would satisfy would be a full refund of their money and since the concern was a similar symptom, but a different failure of the engine we could not offer that option

Amanda Sipes, was offered three different options to repair her HHR that had at the time of diagnosis 190,milesOption was to repair her present engine, Option was to replace her engine with an OEM Chevrolet engine and Option was to obtain a used engine. The first
used engine had a two day shipment time, but customer declined because price did not fit budget, second used engine was higher mileage and fit her budget and would take longer to get. Our company requires a non refundable deposit on used enginesAmanda paid her deposit and we ordered. She decided later that she did not want us to repair it and I explained that we would stop, but deposit would be forfeited. She picked up the vehicle, but wanted a refund. after discussing with our team and pleading with the company we obtained the used engine from we were able to refund out of a $deposit all but $273.11 She brought the vehicle back by for us to inspect about our credulity of our diagnosis. The engine had been worked on and disassembled, but the engine still ran poorly, had a service engine soon light on and had diagnostic trouble codes for engine misfire set which was witnessed by service manager and general manager. The vehicle was not properly repaired and there was never any documented proof given by Amanda to show of what repairs were performed and by whomAmanda also threatened to slander the service manager and company. In closing Amanda did not take any responsibility for diagnosis charges or for her decision to order an engine to repair her vehicle when she was made aware there would be cost involved. It is unfortunate that she would not take at least some responsibility for her decisions and we could not retain this customer as is always our goal as a company

I am rejecting this response because: The issue is still not resolved. The original invoice date was 6/30/2017, however the vehicle had to be taken back to Empire Chevrolet twice since the invoice was printed due to the original service that cash was paid for was not satisfactory as the vehicle was still overheating. There were no subsequent invoices given to me or my father after the first invoice to now. My father and I were advised that they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle after they had driven it a few times and that it must be a bad sensor but it is not overheating. I also have a witness that drove me to Empire Chevrolet well into July to pick up my vehicle for the second time it was taken to Empire Chevrolet. I drove the vehicle short trips back and forth home the next couple weeks and believe what we were told about the gauge misreading. The final time I was able to drive my car I was on the way to work which is when it broke down on 8/13/2017 which we have proof in photo metadata and witnesses from the gas station. This is what I described in my initial complaint to the Revdex.com.Empire Chevrolet claims that the cylinder heads may be cracked now, however those are the exact same cylinder heads that they removed from the engine and sent off for full servicing per the invoice attached to the original complaint. Empire Chevrolet did indeed respond only after the Revdex.com got in contact with them but the offers were all less than fair. The offers were to take off the money I have already paid in cash off of finding a new engine even though they advised my engine was repaired in the invoice. They advised they would take what I paid in cash off a vehicle if I purchase it from them, however this is not in any way what the terms of my invoice with them states. I feel I have been taken advantage of and that the Service Manager that has been in contact with my father cannot assist further. I would like for the next step up in management to reach out to us as a refund or repair at no additional charge is the only option I am willing to accept. The invoice stated the vehicle was repaired, however it is still not repaired since the vehicle never stopped overheating and now I am out of $2000.00 cash that I desperately needed.I would like the next level of management to contact my father or me to settle this as soon as possible.NC General Statutes -Chapter 20 Article 15BNorth Carolina Motor Vehicle Repair Act.http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/EnactedLegislation/Statutes/PDF/ByArticle/Chapte... you,Miranda [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:
I was told the engine ordered would take two days to ship and two to install and then given the run around for two weeks and once I asked for a refund and release of my vehicle it took two days to get them to release the keys. My car was moved into the bay after being asked not to touch my vehicle. And I was threatened by the service manager that he would sue me if I spoke out for which I have on video. I was never told my deposit was non refundable and if it was then why did I get it partially refunded?  My car was taken to another business and fixed in less than 24 hours for less than the deposit.
