Review: I purchased a dress from this store in February 2015. I returned in June to have it altered. Paid by check both times, as they don't accept credit cards. When the dress was sent to me, the alterations were awful and had to be taken out and redone, at my expense, where I live, in Erie, PA.

The store owner gave my his word that he would pay for any expenses I incurred to fix the dress, since I live 8 hours away and returning to the store wasn't reasonable.

I had the dress fixed and called and emailed the owner with the bill. I had paid HIM $300 to alter the dress. My seamstress charged me almost double that, since she had to take out what had been done and re-do it. He refused to pay that amount.

I then wrote to him, more than once, asking that he at least refund what I had paid to HIM, as I did not get what I had paid for and he had promised me he would. I have yet to receive ANYTHING from him and the last time we spoke, he hung up on my and now won't return my emails.When I filed the original complaint I forgot to include this information, also.When I originally purchased the dress, the owner told me that this dress was HIS design and I wouldn't see it anywhere else. However, when I was in another store in Atlanta, the same dress was hanging there. When I confronted him on this, he did admit that he lead me to believe he was the only one carrying it, when if fact that was not true. This started the whole story of lies he told me.Thank you. [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like him, at the least, to refund me the $300 I paid to have my dress fixed, since it was not done.

CUSTOMER DID PURCHASE A MADE TO ORDER GOWN FROM EN-TOTO IN FEBRUARY 2015. CUSTOMER WAS TOLD GOWN WAS EXCLUSIVE TO US, WHAT WE FAILED TO MENTION IS THAT THE EXCLUSIVITY ONLY APPLIES TO NEW YORK, CUSTOMER SAW SAME GOWN IN ATLANTA ,GEORGIA. CUSTOMER CAME IN FOR ONE FITTING IN JUNE. THE COST OF THE ALTERATIONS WAS $200.00 WHICH CUSTOMER PAID. WE ALSO MADE A STOLE FOR CUSTOMER WHICH WAS NOT REPORTED. WE INFORMED CUSTOMER THAT THE GOWN MOST LIKELY WOULD REQUIRE ANOTHER FITTING AND MORE WORK, CUSTOMER INFORMED US THAT SHE HAD A DRESSMAKER IN HERE HOMETOWN THAT COULD HANDLE ANY OTHER ALTERATIONS. SHE NEVER CAME BACK TO US FOR A SECOND FITTING!!! WHEN CUSTOMER CALLED AND TOLD US HER DRESSMAKER WANTED TO CHARGE HER A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY WE TOLD CUSTOMER TO BRING GOWN BACK TO US AND WE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY WORK THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE BUT THAT WE NEEDED TO SEE HER IN GOWN TO DO ANY NECESSARY WORK. AGAIN IT IS VERY RARE THAT A GOWN IS PICKED UP ON THE SECOND FITTING MANY TIMES REQUIRING THREE AND FOUR FITTINGS. WE HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR OVER FORTY YEARS AND HAVE ALTERED THOUSANDS OF GOWNS AND DRESSES AS WELL AS CUSTOM MAKING MANY THOUSANDS MORE, WE STAND BEHIND EVERYTHING WE DO BUT WILL NOT VOUCH FOR A STRANGER WHO WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WHO RE-ALTERED THIS CUSTOMER'S GOWN. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ASKED CUSTOMER TO BRING BACK GOWN FOR ANY WORK THAT HAD TO BE DONE AND WE WOULD HAVE DONE ANYTHING WE COULD TO SATISFY CUSTOMER AND WOULD HAVE DONE SO BUT COULD NOT DO ANY WORK IF WE DID NOT HAVE HER AND THE GOWN TO WORK ON. THE CUSTOMER HAS TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR BRINGING GOWN TO A DRESSMAKER NOT RECOMMENDED BY US WHO DID WORK ON GOWN NOT APPROVED BY US AND IS NOW LOOKING TO US TO PAY WHAT WE CONSIDER AN OUTRAGEOUS AND INSULTING AMOUNT!

It is not true what he said about telling me I would need multiple fittings. I never would have bought a dress at a store 8 hours away from where I live if I thought I had to return several times. I was told that I could have one fitting and that there was very little left to be done and that if I had someone in my city to "tweak" it I would be all set. Clearly this was not true. If you google this business (which unfortunately I did not do) you will find numerous complaints that are almost the same as mine. In addition the owner GAVE ME HIS WORD AFTER THE FIRST ALERATIONS WERE WRONG, that he would pay to have it fixed. Even if my seamstress charged what he deemed ridiculous,I expected him to refund what I had initially paid to him to have the dress fixed. He is simply not telling the truth.
