Review: On March 13, 2013, we brought our daughter in to be tested for receptive language disorder. [redacted] was referred to us by an audiologist in the area after finding that she did not have auditory issues. After making the appointment, I brought my daughter in for the test. It was not until after the testing was complete, that [redacted] informed me of the $1,200 cost. It is now May 9 and we have still yet to receive the results from the doctor ([redacted]?) or get a hard copy. I have called numerous times, left messages, emails as well as speaking with [redacted] directly about receiving a copy of the results. Each time, she claims she will do so, and does nothing. Instead she emails us repeatedly about placing our daughter in her expensive program.Desired Settlement: At this point we have decided to get her tested elsewhere. They found she did not have any receptive language issues and instead, was two grades behind in reading. We later found that only a nuropsychologist can diagnose learning disorders. Speech therapists are not able to diagnose learning disorders. We would like a full refund of the testing fees.

Response:
ELC's first and ONLY complaint in over 16 years! Full refund in the mail, however, not only did I provide this family with a report, we went over that same report together in my office within two weeks of doing the assessment! I also sent the same report to [redacted] along with a summary to their administrator. In man hours, for both myself and Dr. [redacted], no less than 10 hours including the testing session. I wish them well, but in good faith they received excellent professional care. I would include the report but can't due to confidentiality issues.
Thank you for allowing me to tell the "other side".
Sincerely,
[redacted], M.A., C.C.C./[redacted]
