End Of The Roll (Sktn) Reviews (%countItem)

Product Quality Issues, Customer service, Defamation of character.

Quotes for all home improvements needed to be sent to mortgage before the purchase and sale of the new house.
May 10 - flooring and carpet was picked out and the first quote was generated ($6181.56)
May 14th - Contactor came in the house and measured the rooms and gave a quote for materials and labor. Contractor suggested we would be better off with vinyl plank he told us that we would need subfloor in some areas and he said he would make sure it was included in the quote. (2nd quote)
It was decided after contractor came that we no longer wanted to do the carpet in the bedrooms and that was supposed to be removed from the quote. (3rd quote)
May 17th - All quotes for our home improvements were provided to mortgage company and conditions were removed.
May 23 - new quote with "floor patch" was made - we assumed it was the subfloor. (4th quote)
June 10th - two payments were made for a total of $4570.74
June 14th - Move in date.... the flooring was to be installed in the morning. Contractors showed up and said the flooring needed to be in the house for a day to adjust to the house temperature. - We were never told this by anyone, so we were quite upset when the contractors dropped off the tile and left. We opted to move everything into our garage to stay out of their way.
June 15th - the contractors came back to start the demo and install of the new flooring. They noticed there was no subfloor and that is where everything went downhill quick.
June 15th - *** and *** were in Saskatoon picking up the new furniture and were not at the house.
June 15th - The Contractor and End of the Roll discussed and said it was missed on the quote. End of the Roll called *** and said they needed to have payment for the subfloor before the contractor can install the flooring. We were utterly blindsided by this as they already had our floor ripped up and us at a disadvantage. In speaking with *** she was told multiple times that we wanted to have a refund and we would take our business elsewhere and we would pay for *** current labor/ ***. It was said to *** by *** that we purchased "nonrefundable flooring". *** told her we wanted a refund and that we would take our business elsewhere. *** We wanted to have the contractors leave and we would just get someone else to do the install. ***. She never once admitted that the subfloor missed on the quote was her mistake. She tried multiple times to place the blame on the contractor as well as ***/***. Briefly we had spoke with the owner who in turn said the fault was ours not of the contractor or his own people. I had explained to him that when I make a quote at a boat business I have to stick to it I cannot blind side one of my customers. ***. The owner said the flooring would be 329 dollars at cost. I told him I could purchase this elsewhere for End Of The Roll. He then basically forced me to purchase it there although we could have got it elsewhere by saying "home depot doesn't have this kind of wood" and they do.
June 15th - *** and *** went to End of the Roll and the Subfloor was picked up by *** and *** and dropped off at the house with contractor. They didn't start working until the afternoon and left early. ***. The end of the roll did not provide us with any invoice for the subfloor they just told us to grab it.
June 17th - The contractor had to come back on Monday and finish the flooring.
I was called by the franchise owner who was in turn told that we would not be paying for it and our mortgage company would not be paying for it either.

Desired Outcome

I would not like to pay for the items in which I was not quoted for.

End Of The Roll (Sktn) Response • Sep 17, 2019

changed from installing carpet / underlay in his living room the day before the installation was to take place. When he switched to luxury vinyl plank in the living room we had to supply & install G1S plywood in order for the luxury vinyl plank to be glued down. *** called and said he could not afford this as he was out of money for other reno's he was doing to his newly purchased home. I told *** I would pay for the installation of the sub floor to HELP him out, but he would owe End of the Roll for the sub floor. He never paid End of the Roll what was owed.
