Enduracare orthotic & Prosthetic Services Reviews (1)

Review: Hello,My son had multiple muscular problems requiring physical and occupational therapy. I was referred to a state based free program. Enduracare was recommended to me by one of their therapist because they make house visit appointments-a lifesaver for someone working 80hr/wk with no weekdays off as a surgical resident. The first encounter was good, they made molds and delivered his ankle braces without trouble. I did sign to bill the medical insurance, and never heard anything else. When time came for updated braces we called back. Molds were made, but final braces did not fit, caused significant ulcers, and the therapist said to stop wearing and have them adjusted.Unfortunately, despite multiple calls from me and then the PT herself, no one came. By the time they came, over two months of no treatment passed, and the child outgrew the braces and started walking-making bracing difficult. (A new therapy was instituted using on-line purchased shoe lifts).Few months later I received a bill for the second visit. I did sign for them to bill my insurance for both times, however, like the first time, I expected insurance would cover most, if not all of it. This time the total charge was $2758!! (Identical two pairs of plastic braces and a pair of sneakers). Insurance paid $1630. The balance $1127 was billed to me.I have called the number on the bill-had no idea about anything other than final cost, the company office-polite but with no pertinent information, and the owner/therapist-no answer. My complaints:1. No warning of cost and likely limited insurance coverage (as is customary in any other medical office/prosthetics service etc).2. Paying for service that was technically not rendered. My son was unable to wear braces provided, and missed out on treatment time.3. Outrageous and unclear cost. The charges make no sense. I requested a more detailed bill and there is still no rhyme or reason to it. Each of the 4 braces have different cost, and one the insurance payed $0 for-no help talking to office.Desired Settlement: I would think $1630 is plenty for the non-functional braces! A few hundred as co-pay maybe makes sense, but not $1127. Also, they need to figure out why one boot was not covered by insurance-they cant just charge me for the full cost without telling me why 3/4 boots are covered. ... complete non-sense!
