Complaint: Deceptive Business Practice
Engergy First Exteriors ([redacted]) gave me a quote of $298 to do TWO(2)sevice tasks:1. to fix/repair the door scraping on the door frame AND 2. to clear coat the door. After objecting to the high price, Mr.[redacted] sent me an email (2/11/2014) stating. "We would be happy to fix the door from scraping..." I accepted his offer but asked that a service tech put a clear coat on the door. The door scraping was fixed and I signed a "no charge" paper. The service tech came and worked one hour including prep and clean-up to put one coat on one side of the door. Mr. [redacted] stilled charged me the full $298 even though half of the quote was for work that he gave as a courtesy. This is DECEPTION. He woulld argue that I knew the cost in advance of this work; however, the quote was for TWO tasks. This works out to be $300 an hour for ONE TASK. No way is this honest. I have no trust in Engergy First or the word of the owner, [redacted].

We contracted with them for new windows and sliding doors in Sept 2013. Sliding door in great room did not fit. Outside trim work on both sliding doors not done. Install tech had "higher-up" come out, he used "spacers" and said everything was fine. Install tech said the door was not the correct door for that application. "higher-up" that came out that day along with production manager left the company. Install tech made multiple trips to finish trim work. Outside trim still not done. Jan of 2013, different installer came out. Said door wasn't right. Would order the correct door for that application. 3 weeks later showed up with a sliding door that was the wrong color. I told him I would not accept it. He called the new owner who offered to take $1000 off the bill if I let them put it in. I refused. The new installer said he'd reorder the correct color. Few weeks later, the "new" project manager came out. Said he'd been in the biz blah blah blah. Took measurements. Said the door was in fact the correct one. Said he would return and make all necessary work to finish the job correctly. No matter what. Came back, installed wood trim, no paint, no poly on it, and sealed it with white inside latex trim. Haven't seen him since. Then the original installer showed back up. Said he would fix the job. He said the owner has been bugging him to collect the balance. I spoke with the owner and a new, lower price was agreed upon as long as the project was completed to me satisfaction. Made some disparaging comments about the work the project manager had done. Since then, he's been out for an hour here and there and the job is not done. 6 months. He has called and cancelled or begged off coming out several times, stating he gets paid by the job and this job isn't making any money for him. Yesterday he said he'd be out this morning. No word. Didn't show. I texted him and said don't come out. I will finish the job. I told him if the owner wants money, he will have to come out and collect it in person. The owner called. I told him I was not paying the agreed amount as the work was not done. He said he could be out by early this afternoon. He became belligerent and yelled in a threatening tone. Folks, this company is a poor excuse for a customer service organization. I will not ever use them again.
