In response to complaint ID # [redacted] He brought there car in to us because it wouldn't shiftWe found speed senor's were not reading correctly and transmission was in failsafe, also side cover and transmission pan were leakingWe dropped the transmission pan to repair leak and check for metal fragment's since this can cause sensor's to failNo real evidence of metal in panWe found stripped pan bolt'sWe heli coiled them to fix pan leak and installed new side cover gasket to repair that leakWe replaced external speed sensor's and found transfer sensor still not readingChecked wiring connector's and wiring harness'sFound wire's rubbing on mounting bracket and shorting outWe repaired wire's and sensor's are reading nowTest drove and transmission had a slow engagement and a flair up on the 1-and 2-shiftWe had to repair the control system to know if the transmission was in working orderWe regret that the transmission needed internal repair and could have worked with the customer to resolve the issue, but the customer was moving out of state and decided to try and drive the car to TexasAll the work that was done would have had to be done by any other shopThe husband was called after the test drive and informed of what we foundHe wanted to know if would make it to Texas? I Told him there is no way of knowing thatShe called later to pay with a credit card over the phone and was told the same thingThey took the carWe feel that it is unreasonable to ask for any refund as it was their decision to try and drive to their new residence after being informed that the transmission was not in good working order
