Where do I begin....we proceeded with a contract to have a new roof installed on our home (flat roof) he claims to have over years' experienceBefore the job was even complete we had our first issue with water coming into our home and it was alongside the fireplace an issueI emailed him, he came out the next day despite his website claiming he does 24/repairs and "fixed" itWe also noticed when we went to bring out the Xmas tree, beginning of Dec from the under the stairs storage that there was standing water and moldy drywall! My fiancee is in the restoration industry, so he dried up the area with a de-humidifier and we cut out the wet moldy drywall We then had an incident with water coming in through the ceiling of our spare bedroom (an issue we had never had previously in the 4+ years in our home) I emailed him again with it and he again said he would be out the next day to "fix" He then emails me to tell me it's been "fixed" and it was due to a broken vent (which was incl int he contract, replace & install vents) despite his "fix" water continued to come in at least more times creating extensive water damage to our home, causing my fiancee to run a de-humidifier to dry out the room, lift up the carpet and remove some drywall in the ceiling to remove the wet insultation to avoid mold growth It was discovered our ceilings contained asbestos!! We now had to deal with abatement in order to remove the ceiling! one very heavy rainfall standing water was discovered again in the under the stairs storage and more moldy drywall Upon removal of the drywall it was discovered that the water coming in was from the roof! He went up onto the roof to see if he could see anything that we could fix int eh mean time considering our home was being damaged and discovered a drain to be pointed towards our home bringing water into the house since he had completed the roof in October! There were mushrooms growing on our "new" roof around the drain due to the moisture!! This brought water into our home all the way from the roof down the wall storeys to the main floor, into the under the stairs storage causing it to seep through the wall into our living room down the baseboards, which are now swollen and need to be replaced as well as causing damage to your laminate flooring requiring us to now to go through our insurance I informed him by email that I was done with his "fixes" and if he wanted to prove himself to pay for an inspector through the [redacted] to come and provide a report, I then stated he would have x amount of time after that to do the work satisfactory and then have another report to state that it's correct He refused I said you know what then..give us our money back and $ [redacted] for our deductiblehe refused that as wellSo we paid for the inspector who came out and basically said the whole roof needs to be re-done, that our only saving grace in this is that he did NOT remove our existing roof (this was in the contract)
