Complaint[redacted], owner of the Company never returns phone calls and fails to pay balances.[redacted] contacted my husband for help installing a roof. The roof was to be a layover because the homeowners were selling the house and did not want to spend a lot of money on a tear-off. After weeks of waiting the materials were finally delivered and work was to start on a Monday. The work was started and about half-way through the job someone from the shingle company that [redacted] had ordered the shingles showed up at the job site and said that the shingles had not been paid for. That he had put them on credit but they were to be paid for before the job was to be started. We called [redacted] and he never answered. We sent him a text message informing him that the company was there to pick up the shingles because they were not paid. He sent a text message back saying let them take them it would be fine. He would go purchase the remaining shingles from a different place. This was early morning around 10:00 a.m. The roofers finished installing the shingles that were on the roof that had not been taken and still [redacted] had not brought any more shingles. He then called and said go home he would bring the shingles the next day. Two days passed and finally on Thursday he said that he had the shingles and to go finish the job. The job was finished and we never heard from [redacted]. We went to the homeowners home to see if they had heard from him and they said that they had written him a $500 check the day before but the remaining balances that would not pay until the damages on the roof were fixed. We asked the homeowners what damages they were talking about. They then replied that they did not know that we would have to talk to the inspector. It took weeks for us to get a report of the damages while still not response from [redacted]. Different roofing companies use different standards when they cut away the shingles on the edge of the roof underneath the overlay as how far to cut. The company that they had inspect it said the shingles underneath were cut too far back and could eventually lead to leaking and would probably void the warranty on the roof through the manufacture. What they failed to mention that any time you do a layover on a roof it automatically voids the warranty through the company of the shingles because layovers are not advised and the amount that the shingles were cut back were per installation instructions of the manufacture of the shingles. But [redacted] never answered the whole time we were trying to deal with the problem. The homeowners hired another company to "fix" the problems which took maybe a hour and charged almost the same amount of labor as to replace the whole roof! They weren't fixing anything. The roof did not leak before they "fixed" these problems and the homeowners verified that. We never got verification from the homeowners that the other company actual fixed the roof or it was just a estimate. Well about a month later [redacted] finally calls us and says he has another roof to do and would pay us $500 from the previous roof (the layover) which was not ever half the balance. He said that the homeowners were cheap and were trying to save money since they were trying to sell the house and he would put a lean and later he would pay the remaining balance. Well he never did. The sign on the back of his truck has a Revdex.com sign but when I checked he is not Revdex.com accredited and had warrants and felonies in other states. He is just one big scammer. He also did the same thing to some painters fixing a church and owed them over $10,000 for labor and material. Be careful with him. He just wants to scam people and make promises he doesn't keep.Desired SettlementWe are seeking answers and payment or refunds on the roofs he never paid on.
