I am rejecting this response because:The vendor did not specifically state actually who was responsible for having the account closed.It was NOT closed by me because if I had closed it prior to the contract expiration date I would have been subject to a $penalty.If the closier was initiated by them I would want a letter from them with a copy to your office stating the time & date the close was in effect & by whom it was initiated.Please do not close this file until the situation is resolved properly & completely.From the message on your last report I assumed they were the ones who initiated the closing.I need clarification in this matter to avoid any penalty Thank you very much. Please be advised of the following regarding the *** account:1/22/16-Son of account holder called Meenan for service on behalf of his mother because she had a stroke and was illService was sent as requested5/9/16-Daughter of account holder (author of the Revdex.com complaint we are responding to)
called Meenan to discuss the balance on her mother's accountMeenan advised her that she would need to provide POA (Power of Attorney) Paperwork to changes modify, or make use of the account6/1/16-No POA paperwork was forthcoming from daughterMeenan called the account's phone number to seek the POA PaperworkThe phone number on the account was out of service6/8/16-Returned mail from the home revealed that the account owner had passed away9/28/16-Son called seeking to have service on his mother's accountService was sent as requestedService was provided without chargePOA paperwork was again requested10/12/16-As POA Paperwork was still not provided the account was closed1/21/17-Daughter called Meenan stating the her mother's home was without heat and needed service/oilIt was explained to daughter that Meenan was forced to close the account as POA paperwork/Executor Paperwork was never provided as requestedMeenan said they would startup their unit, deliver oil, and reactivate the account, but Executor Paperwork would be needed immediately to allow the account to go onto Full Service Automatic Delivery statusThe daughter stated she agreed to this.1/23/17-Meenan received Executor Paperwork from the daughter1/27/17-Daughter called Meenan complaining that her January delivery was too expensiveIn response, the daughter received a $credit from Meenan.3/16/17-Daughter received gallon delivery to her mother's house as the account was due for delivery5/1/17-Daughter called Meenan stating she did not want her mother's house to be a Full service Automatic Delivery Account and wanted the March delivery pumped outAt the time of this call, the account had a $balanceThe daughter was advised that she requested the account be reinstated as Full Service Automatic Delivery Account and the delivery was valid5/31/17-Daughter called MeenanThe daughter and Meenan agreed if the daughter paid $100, the remainder of the $balance would be waived (an exceptional credit)6/8/17-Daughter paid the $agreed toCurrent-The account is closed, has no balance, is not in collections, and no actions have been taken in regards to the daughter's credit, Meenan wishes the daughter and her family well.Sincerely,Chris B*** General Manager Meenan Oil Company *** *** StreetTullytown, PA

I am rejecting this response because: Meenan fails to acknowledge that it was their technicians who came out to my house on two separate occasion and worked on my heater for a total of 3.5 hours. So if anyone is to blame its them, first for not properly finding the faulty part the first two times and second for not properly disclosing that this could potentially happen when your unit is down for repair. As to the harming them comment, I will be alerting everyone how I was treated. In this day and age you cant just treat people anyway you see fit because you do not want to take responsibility for repairing my floor and carpet ( no furniture like you tried to add )

Hello and thank you for your inquest.  The following is a summary of the conversation alluded to by Mr. [redacted]:On 4/13/16 3:25pm Mr. [redacted]  called Meenan Oil and spoke with the General Manager Chris B[redacted].  Mr. [redacted] was upset that the Meenan tech currently in his...

home was going to put his account on stop because his oil tank had no legs and was on top of blocks.  Chris B[redacted] explained to Mr. that the tech was correct because his current set up was not to code and was a liability risk to his home.  Mr. became argumentative and refused to have his tank replaced. Chris B[redacted] recommended that Mr. [redacted] get a quote and consider the replacement for a couple days, but Mr. refused.  Chris B[redacted] told Mr. that he would close the account for "failing to maintain equipment to code".

[redacted] agreed to a 1 year protected price plan for heating oil with Meenan Oil that ran from 1/1/15 to 12/31/15. [redacted] agreed to remain on automatic delivery for a period of year with Meenan. [redacted] also agreed that should he fail to remain on...

automatic delivery for any reason, to include becoming delinquent in his payments, that his account would be closed and that he would be charged an early termination fee of $399 to account for the hedged product Meenan secured in good faith for him. Unfortunately [redacted] failed to keep his account current and presently has an outstanding balance of $1,444.39 ($1,003.49 of which is 120 days past due). For this reason, we would ask that [redacted] pay the totality of his outstanding balance as soon as possible and we wish him well in the future.

Mr. [redacted] will not be charged an Early Termination Fee.  This response can be used as documentation for Mr. [redacted]'s records.

“In June of 2017 Meenan Account [redacted]-[redacted] experienced a water leak at their heating system due to a faulty Relief Valve.  Meenan received a call from [redacted] who was upset about the situation. Meenan explained to [redacted] that this incident was caused by a part failure....

 In cases such as this, the home owner would need to call their home owner’s insurance, explain the situation, present the faulty part, and the insurance company would pay for any necessary repairs.  If the insurance company felt that the situation was not a part failure, but rather some form of poor service, they could subrogate against Meenan.  [redacted] was unhappy with this information and wanted Meenan to pay for all repairs associated with the leak (rugs, tiles, furniture, etc.).  Meenan explained to Mr. that this was the standard in how these cases were resolved, but he was still not satisfied with the explanation.  Over the course of five or more calls to multiple employees at Meenan, [redacted] called to state that he would do everything in power to harm/damage Meenan in any fashion he could.  As this was not a healthy relationship for either party, Meenan decided to close [redacted] account.  [redacted] has been in communication with our representative (an adjustor from [redacted]), and will need to exclusively speak through him regarding any future concerns he may have.  We wish [redacted] well and we hope this information is helpful.”

We have been unsuccessful in trying to reach [redacted] to resolve concerns. We received an email on 1/19/18 from [redacted] asking to place his account on a stop. The account was placed on a stop per his request. We followed up with a phone call at 7:03pm 1/19/18. We made another phone call on...

1/31/18 at 8:39am and another call on 2/2/18 at 11:13am with no return call from our messages. The account has been closed out per [redacted]'s request.
