Engine House Inc. Reviews (2)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]
To address each stated point by the business:1.       The sensor which the business states is currently working did not function as intended. When the engine was first repaired, the business was informed of some loss of oil in the engine. The business stated the issue was with the oil level sensor therefore they replaced the sensor to solve the missing engine oil issue. Receipts indicate that the oil level sensor was replaced by the business. If the sensor was functioning properly then it should have indicated to the driver that there is no oil in the engine. The engine damage was due to lack of oil in the engine. 2.       The business stated that the dip stick is aftermarket. The dip stick on the vehicle is used for manual oil level checking. This dipstick is specifically designed for the vehicle and has been used on the vehicle many years prior to the repairs done by the business. This dip stick is only an indicator and does not have any mechanical functions on the vehicle. When the business was questioned about parts used for their repairs they stated that they use aftermarket parts. 3.       The vehicle had the altered induction system prior to engine repair. The business saw the alteration many times and never stated it is or can be an issue. When the vehicle was brought to the business (with the permission of the business) the engine had no oil inside. The vehicle had to be towed to the location of the business at my expense.4.       The business stated that the suspension is 17 years old. This is not a true statement as the vehicle has had suspension work done within that span of time. The business also repaired a significant amount of the vehicles suspension. These repairs include new; struts, strut mounts, shocks, upper and lower tie rods, upper and lower control arm bushing. The vehicle never had suspension noises and noises only began after the business replaced my rack and pinion, which was replaced due to their recommendation. After they replaced it, the noise persisted. The rack and pinion never made noises and steering was never stiff prior to the business replacing the rack and pinion. The owner stated that the noise and stiffness was due to the new parts placed on the car by them, but the noise and stiffness never faded and worsened. The vehicle was inspected by a certified mechanic, their findings indicated that the rack and pinion needed repair or replacement. The mechanic stated that the noise is only exhibited during steering and only when the steering wheel is turning. Body bushings would not cause a knocking noise if the vehicle is stationary or when the steering wheel is being turned. The business also replaced the vehicle’s power steering pump which is also involved in steering mechanics. After complaining to the owner, the owner stated to me that he only specializes in engines and not suspension.5.       The engine cannot be full of oil and water as there is evidence of the engine dropping oil the day the vehicle broke down on the highway. The business also neglected to return my calls after several attempts to contact the business. This response is the first time the business has mentioned any water in the engine. The business stated to me that they will take full responsibility and find an engine for replacement as the repairs are still under warranty. The business never contacted me regarding the vehicle and is providing false statements. The business has had the vehicle for 5 months and no repairs has yet been reported. The vehicle was brought to the business without license plates, there were never any unbeknownst visits. I also find it irresponsible that the business has abandoned my vehicle and did not inform me of its negligence.

In response to the complaint's problems here are the facts:1-The sensor in the vehicle that the complainant states does not work IS working as per our testing.2-The low oil level sensor has nothing to do with the engine damage as reported by the complainant. The vehicle has been altered, the oil...

level metering and the dip stick to measure the oil is an after market part not installed by Engine House Inc.3-The induction system had been altered to pivot downward to the ground approximately 4-6 inches from the pavement. In our findings so far we have found fresh water or rain water has been sucked thru the induction system by the vacuum of the engine causing catastrophic failure of the engine.4- The suspension system of this vehicle is 17 years old, we replace the Rack and Pinion part of the steering. We also replaced the Rack and Pinion because of the initial complaint about the knocking noise. We went ahead and ordered and replaced the Rack and Pinion to no avail because the knocking noise was still happening. The body bushings of the vehicle are worn out and the knocking noise the complainant hears is the body touching the chassis. The complainant was told the age and the condition of the vehicle was the problem. The body bushings are worn out. 5-The engine is full of oil and water and that is why the oil level switch never came on. We have informed the complainant of our findings but he insists its the switch. Currently the complainant has abandoned his vehicle on my property, he came to my property unbeknownst to me and removed his license plates. I now consider the vehicle totally abandoned.
