Good Morning, I have a complaint from [redacted] about her Champion Swamp Cooler 4000 CFM I installed for her. I have done 1 other job for her on water meter before. price on a 4000 CFM and a 5000. the 4000 runs about $450 with motor $540 with tax right around 600 give or take with an 18in sq opening so I told her I wont put a markup on it because she only had so much and I cant remember how much she said. The transition I had to get made was an 18in x 14in flanged Elbow 90 degree with a damper. that was $75 picked that up a can of roof cement $15. her electrical was in shambels getting weather beaten and she had problems with replacing pumps and motors because of it. so I was like your gonna need an electrician to fix that but that I would install it hook it up and put a weather proof plastic conduit wich I was going to with the install . that was $20 A set of Cooler legs for pitched roof. $35. Lag screws to screw them to roof $5. Keep in mind this is regular price no mark up couse she asked me how much it costs so I honestly told her.  she wanted me to honor those prices so I was like no biggie. I didn't mark up anything and did a lot of leg work for her cuz she didn't have a lot of money then told myself if me and my help can knock this out in one day make $400 im good with it ok. We got the A/C up and hooked up ready to start and we having problems with the electrical & switch not wired right, The breaker keeps flipping, must be a short cuz I know its wired right according to what was availiable. I told her this is were you need an electrician  and like that idea and I didn't blame her. she said cant I just wire it . I said look I have wire at the shop its a close run so ill pick up another switch just in case tomorrow it was getting dark and will add on $100 for material gas cuz she lives in Los Lunas im in Albuquerque..Thats $750 from above the wired that is paid for at shop wich is worth $25 and switch that is $15 gas $40 = $830 with tax $880. my help for 2 days is $240 we are at $1,110 I think I charged her $1,250. To were I think I helped her out. I told her about refridgerated air was the way to go but she thinks she will be fine with just a bigger cooler. She said it doesn't cool down after it was installed and I told her it was humid and swamps don't work well with humidity and mine wasn't cooling either that's it then she had some contractor saying I burned her and she was saying that to.   Thank you for listening to my story.
