Review: An Englert Roof was installed on a home we built in [redacted], [redacted]. Due to a design issue, an ice damming issue was created. We contacted the Englert representative who originally installed the roof. We discussed the modifications and were told they would attempt to put the repair on their schedule. When , several months later, the repair had not been completed we asked if another contractor could make the modifications. We were told that it would void all warranty on the roof if someone else disturbed their work. After several more failed attempts at getting the repair scheduled, we contacted Englert directly. [redacted], regional sale representative, told us he would make contact with the representative. He confirmed that the warranty would be void as stated by the representative and would offer us no solution to the need for repair.

Please be advised that we are in receipt of your complaint as referenced above. I have spoken to our sales representative [redacted] regarding this matter and he has explained the actual situation that transpired resulting in this claim. Please find below the facts as we understand them,

Apparently [redacted], the general contractor (GC) on this project awarded a contract to a roofing customer of ours in the region. As noted in your letter we will not include their name. Our roofing customer, an independent roofing contractor did purchase our materials as far as we know and install the roof on the subject house.

At some point after installation the owner/GC discovered a leak or leaks and called our customers to come out and make the repairs. Our customer did schedule the repairs but never went out. I believe they are 6 hours from the job site and the repairs were said to be very small.

When the GC got no action from the roofer they called our sales representative, [redacted] for assistance. [redacted] is an Englert employee. [redacted] did reach out to the roofer to see if he could get them to make good on the repairs requested and they told him they would take care of it. Englerts contact with the roofer ended.

Englerts part in this situation is limited to our sale of the roofing material to the roofer. We do not install or warrant the installation. The installer they are calling “the Englert Representative” in the second line of the customers statement, is an independent roofing contractor that purchases our material, and others, for roofing projects.

The statement where [redacted] confirmed that the warranty would be void if anyone other than the original installer touches that work was taken out of context. He was relaying the roofer’s message that if anyone else touched the roof the original roofer’s workmanship warranty would be void. Englert has no warranty on this project regarding installation or weathertightness. Therefore we have no control or position regarding workmanship issues.

Hopefully this all makes sense, please feel free to contact me if you have any other question.

Review: I purchased Leafguard gutters five years ago from a [redacted]. Firm called [redacted]. This company was affiliated with Englert Leafguard of New Jersey. This product is supposed to come with a lifetime anti-clogging warranty. I recently noticed quite a bit of leaf detritus inside the gutter (having noticed some seedlings taking root in the gutter) and so I contacted the local distributor. The local company has since gone out of business and when I contacted the American number (1-800-GUTTERS), and described my issue, the woman I talked to did not seem surprised and said that the gutters needed to be flushed. I was told that any service calls in the [redacted]. Area would be handled by their [redacted] office. They were going to have their [redacted] office call me asap to discuss a service call. When I expressed surprise that they would come all the way from [redacted], they said it would not be a problem. I have since then never heard from them. Basically, I want this company to live up to its promise to maintain "a gutter that never ever clogs, guaranteed." At this point, I feel that I am being left hanging.Desired Settlement: I would like my issue to be taken care of, as promised in the warranty and as discussed with the representative at 1-800-GUTTERS.
