Engleson, Hunter & Capell, P.a.

This complaint is regarding the dishonest billing practices of Engleson, Capell & Engleson. Previously they had completed my 2011 State and Federal income tax return for a cost of $230.00. The following year I contacted Lorne Engleson approximately 40 days prior to April 15th in regard to my 2012 income tax return. He stated that the cost of filing would be approximately the same as the previous year and he confirmed that the return would be complete prior to the April 15th deadline. After missing the April 15th deadline, he then stated that he would have them complete after a one week extention. After numerous phone calls, (none of which were returned), as well as physical visits, it was not until mid July until my taxes were completed. Several months later I received a bill for $480.00. This was over a 100% increase in rates which were never communicated before hand. Had I known of this increase, I would have promptly taken my business elsewhere. I have attempted to contact Mr Engleson several times in hopes of receiving an explantion for this drastic increase in rates. In fact the only response I have received is invoices with never ending interest charges attached. I am willing to pay for the services provided even though they were inferior in every regard. However, a doubling of rates is unacceptable. In my opinion the charge should be less than the previous year based on the poor level of service.
