Ennis Realty and Property Management Reviews (2)

Review: On the evening of February 8th into the early morning of February 9th a snowstorm came through CT dropping approximately 30 to 35 inchs of snow in Wallingford. The storm closed many roads, making them impassible. Due to the heavy volume of snow and road closures, [redacted] Property Managment was unable to plow my lot at 2 Fern Ave. until Sunday. [redacted] Property Managment did an excellant job clearing the complex and units of Comblus Commons of the snow in a timely manner. However, by Monday evening the garages of Units 1 and 2 were still completely blocked by snow. A e-mail was sent to the condo association VP informing him of the situation. That night [redacted] Property sent a snow plow to push the snow which further blocked my unit. There is no reason why the snow could not have been moved to another part of the complex. On Tuesday the situation was still the same and I placed a call to [redacted]. The receptionist was extremely rude and feigned taking down my Info. when I asked to receive a response to my issue. By Wednesday, having no choice and having to go to work, I had to spend over 1 hour shoveling a massive mountain of snow that was blocking my garage. 2 weeks after the storm I still did not have access to my parking space in front of my unit when all others had access to theirs. I pay the same amount of condo fees has everyone else and I feel I did not receive equitable service. The condo fees are $175 a month which includes snow removal. The month of March I paid $150 because I refused to pay the full amount for snow removal that I did not receive. On March 27th 2013 I regrettably paid the additional $25 to avoid a late fee that [redacted] warned me about in a e-mail. Am I responsible for paying the full amount? Snow removal is in our contract and I now feel I am forced to Pay for a service that I did not receive. Sincerly,-[redacted]-

I just dont want to pay the full amount for a service if I did not get the full service

The blizzard that Mr [redacted] is referring to did indeed pose some hardships in dealing with the magnitude of snow. His Board of Director were in charge of decisions that needed to be made regarding the clean up and removal of snow and were on site and would be aware of the conditions. The snow plowing vendor needed authorization to bring in the appropriated equipment to remove and haul away snow and this is at additional cost to the Association. The equipment was not authorized nor may have been available and large piles of snow were present. Mr. [redacted] called the office after he shoveled the snow which in most cases people had to step up to the plate and do in this situation. The condo fee does include snow plowing but during this blizzard additional service was required to remove the snow. The Associations Board were aware of these condition and the necessary steps need. Mr [redacted] had emailed the VP and they could have addressed his concerns with the snow plowing vendor. We were in constant contact with all of our vendors during this infrequent condition everyone did there best to handle the situation given the authorization we were given to do so. We would suggest that Mr [redacted] put any request he feels he deserved in writting and submit to Management to be forward to his Board of Directors for review and comment.

Review: I gave them $1,000.00 security deposit for an apartment, they would not approve my dog when they said they would so I could not take the apartment. I asked for my security deposit back and wanted to come to the office to pick it up. they refused to see me and said they had already mailed the check to me. They have not returned my deposit and keep telling me it is in the mail. They would not give me back cash and every time I call them they hang up on me. My mother has also called spoke to them and they keep telling her that the check is in the mail, when she asked what the check number was, they said they didn't have that information. This has been 2 weeks now and it should not have taken 2 weeks to mail from [redacted] to [redacted]. PLEASE PLEASE this is a lot of money for me and I really need it to pay for another apartment ASAPDesired Settlement: I want my money back ASAP and refunded for the 5 days of electricity in my name that I was never able to use since they never gave me the key.
