Good afternoon [redacted], I am writing in response to complaint ID [redacted] filed against Caring Transitions. The customer is correct in that Caring Transitions Corporate Office does manage and administrate an online auction website for our several independently owned franchises throughout the...

US.  Where I think there may be some confusion is the customer’s belief that there is no feature on the site to retract bids.  A bid retraction feature is available to each of the sellers on the site and the decision to retract a bid is at the seller’s discretion. Furthermore, the site also utilizes a two-step bidding confirmation process to further protect bidders from placing erroneous bids.  The customer’s claim that Caring Transitions allows for erroneous descriptions of auctions to be posted on the site is also inaccurate.  If a complaint is submitted regarding an item/auction description, it is always promptly addressed and resolved appropriately.  However, we have no record of this customer submitting a complaint in regards to an inaccurate description on the site.  Her only complaint was that her access to our site was revoked.  Her claim that we do not allow bidders to retract their bids is false. She requested that her bid be retracted and her request was promptly completed. The customer’s erroneous bidding and the consequential retraction proved to be a significant liability for our owner; and because it is clearly stated in several areas on the site that all bids placed are an agreement to purchase, which the customer did not honor, we felt we had just cause for deactivating her account on the site. Regarding the Desired Settlement:The software already provides a method to retract bids when necessary and was implemented in the incident which led to the customer’s complaint.Auction owners are already required to describe auctions accurately and we at Corporate promptly address any disputes as neededCaring Transitions consistently strives to comply with all of the provisions of the standards of conduct and ethical treatment requirements.Reasons for revoking access:no payment on an item woncareless or erroneous bidding with no intent to paylack of response to contacts made regarding a won itemproviding invalid contact infono pick-up of an itemrefusal to pay shippingdisrespectful, obscene, or offensive behavior or language displayed at any point during the auction process  Thanks, Auction Admin[redacted]
