I am Writing in response to the complaint of [redacted] on September 5, 2017 regarding her application for a small business loan with EDG.First, I wanted to mention that her application is still pending. We have not made a decision on her case as of to date.Second, current EDG policy...

requires that all necessary permits and licenses need to be submitted by the applicant, before the loan committee can review any such applications. This policy is mandatory especially for loans using funds from the Federal government, like the Small Business Administration (SBA), which EDG is using. [redacted] does not have the necessary Passenger Operating Authority as required by the Maryland Public Service Commission (MPSC) to operate a passenger vehicle, and therefore, we cannot submit her case until she meets this requirement. We have informed her about the requirement when she initially applied on August 11, 2017. She was also subsequently informed when we had a teleconference with the MPSC on August 31, and in our conversation with her after various consultations with EDG's Portfolio Manager between August 11 and August 31.Third, in carrying out our mission, we come across new industries and particular cases, which triggers some needs for possible policy review in the organization, which we also raise with the SBA.We will provide you with an update on how this issue will pan out in the near future.Thank you for all your understanding.Sincerely,Fikru A[redacted]
