Stay far, far away from these jokers. I wasn't impressed in 2014 but returned at the behest of my husband. One of the accountants, [redacted], has zero customer service skills. He cannot make eye contact and doesn't even ask the most basic of questions when meeting with you.
This year, Entringer bungled not only our taxes but those of my in-laws. We dropped off our materials on March 10th and were told that they were running behind (maybe 3 weeks). Ok then. At the end of the third week, I gave them a call and asked for an update. Nope, no progress on either. As April 15th approached, still no updates. The phone sometimes was answered and other times was not. [redacted] frankly sucks at returning phone calls and can barely speak to you unless you pull words out of him, so don't expect to know very much about your tax preparation or his progress on it.
Entringer wound up NOT getting our taxes done by April 15th, and we never would have known this unless I didn't doggedly call (and yell). I'm serious. After having our materials for 5 weeks, they didn't let us know as Tax Day approached. How unprofessional and inconsiderate. Frankly, our taxes should take a preparer about 30 minutes--they are very simple (each have 1 income, no kids, no property, etc.).
The most unethical aspect of this is that my recently widowed mother-in-law was strung along by Entringer and Associates. She had not a clue about taxes--her husband had handled all of that--and they had been clients for years. They had many years of past returns to base 2014 upon but instead bungled it, made her file an extension, and caused undue stress to our family in a time of difficulty.
There are many other more professional, efficient firms out there. Hell, go to H&R Block. You'd save money and time and actually be able to hold the preparer accountable if you weren't happy. Instead, [redacted] has chosen to ignore my concerns yet charge us even more for our return. Well, I hope you enjoy my $200 as much as I enjoyed blasting you in this review.
