Pretty much everything Mr*** stated is actually true! That is what is so surprising toactually get a letter of complaint concerning the buy sell agreement dated June 9th 2015.While it is true that Mr*** did indeed purchase the GMC Sonoma ID#I GTCTl ***, completely "As-Is" I
did indeed tell him some two or three dayslater, that before he spends" one dollar in repairs,'' to simply bring it in to me, and that Iwould pay to have our mechanic diagnose the problem for freeFREE, what more couldanyone ask for? He told me that it had a check engine light that came on which coded fora bad spark plug and a evaporation problemI told him, once again, probably back aroundJune 12th to simply bring it in, and we would gladly replace the spark plug, and diagnosethe evaporation problem which many times is as simple as a faulty sealing gas cap.Then on Monday the 13th of July one full month later he called me and once again I toldhim that we would diagnose the problem and make repairs as neededI explained to himthat while it is possible that it may need a new catalytic converter it is doubtful but thathow could I possibly know without having him bring it inYes, if in the case of worstcase scenario and it needed a new converter I would split the cost with him 50-eventhough I have no legal obligationYou see that is one thing that I can't repair in my ownshop, as it is a specialty item which should be changed at a shop specializing in muftlersand catalytic convertersThe only reason that I told him this, is that he kept pressing meto tell him that no matter what the issues might be, that we would cover them 100% withno out of pocket expense, on his partAnything that I authorized my shop to do with noout of pocket expense on Mr*** part is simply good will and not an impliedwarranty.Yes it is true, that we sent him his plates and registration by Priority mail, at our expense,and for that I am once again sorry if that upset himPerhaps we should have simply keptthe plates at our dealership and made him drive up to get them but it was around daysfrom delivery and we thought that it was a courtesy to send them to him at no cost to him.Ms *** bottom line is this is not a complaint letter but a letter of recommendationabout our sale practicesWe bend over backwards, to make customers happy, and quite
frankly what's $plus or minus, to do that and make a customer for lifeIfhe is soworried then why only after more than a month did he call, and once again refuse toexcept my offer to have it checked out FREE! I can't help but wonder how many milesthat he has driven this truck in the month plus, he has owned itOf all the letters that Ihave had to respond to after years this is the most peculiarHow many times have youhad a complaint letter sent to you when the business offered to stand behind the issue?Probably not a whole lot.I was thinking about this all day and am trying my best to think of this in terms of perhapswhat a restaurant owner might doSay you ordered a beautiful dinner at a upper levelestablishment only to have it ruined because a wait person dropped the food on youThishappened to me recentlyThe food then was promptly replaced and after severalapologies the dinner was on the houseWell Mr*** wants not only that dinner forfree, but one free monthly for a year! Perhaps he wanted us to drive to his house then puton his plates, and bring it in for repair, and after polishing it bring it back to himI reallydon't even know what the complaint actually is do you? Wouldn't a rational person besomewhat grateful that the business they choose to make a purchase from, offer to standbehind conditionally, a minor adjustment, without blowing it out of proportion?Especially knowing full well that he made a financial decision to not purchase a warrantyat time of saleEven if he had purchased a warranty the deductible may very well be morethan the actual cost of repair in this case.Fortunately, while it is tempting to become hardened by these type of frivolouscomplaints, we will continue to try and take care of good honest people, so that our littlebusiness of years may continue to growMr*** can now take care of his owntruck, at his own expense for wasting your and my timePlease feel free to call meanytime, if you would like to discuss this, or any complaint more than I have
