Initial Business Response /* (1000, 14, 2015/10/13) */
To Whom it [redacted] Concern:

Concerning [redacted]'s case. All the things she reported were true and accurate. My employee who cleaned her building and had possession of a building key quit my employment the same time [redacted] terminated...

our cleaning contract. And I was not able to get the key back from [redacted] After trying many times. She disappeared and would not return phone calls. [redacted] asked me to give her [redacted] contact information to retrieve the key herself. And legally I could not do this. I told her I was sorry and that I could not get the key back from my employee. [redacted] continued to reach out to me leaving me messages. I felt it was futile calling her back after I told her the same thing several times. And she kept asking me for my employees contact information. So I stopped calling her back. I am extremely sorry, and if I could of got her key back I would of got her key back. It was not due to lack of trying. Feel free to call me with any further questions.

Sincerely,

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 17, 2015/10/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We appreciate that Mr. [redacted] attempted to retrieve the keys from his former employee. However, the fact remains that a former potentially displeased employee of his remains in possession of keys to our business. Exacerbating the situation, we were not immediately notified that his employee had left the company at the same time we terminated the contract. This resulted in a gap during which we had absolutely no idea that our keys were not properly protected, and in the hands of an authorized business or individual, which was/is not even remotely acceptable. While we took steps to protect our business - once we learned that this had occurred - there were/are other steps that he could have taken to retrieve all items of value to his clients not just ours from his former employee. He chose not to while, as he states, also refusing to respond to repeated attempts to discuss/resolve the issue.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 31, 2015/11/25) */
To respond again on what [redacted]'s response. Concerning the past employee with the building keys. I did inform [redacted], that I had to reach out to [redacted] to get the keys back. And that [redacted] was not responding to my calls. When I was talking to [redacted], I had no idea [redacted] was not coming back. But without being able to get a hold of her. I could not make the assumption she had quit. And as far as I knew she did not quit but was dealing with personal issues? I can only assume since she disappeared after the contract was terminated that is why she left. But there was no ill will? I felt I would get the keys back in short order. Since I did speak to [redacted] once after that time. And she verbally told me she would drop the keys off threw my office door mail slot that evening. That is the last time I heard from [redacted] I am not sure what else I could of done to protect the customer. Since I communicated all this to [redacted] as it happened. It is only after I did not hear from [redacted] is when [redacted] started asking for me to break the law and give her [redacted] phone number. And that is when [redacted] felt I was not doing enough. She was understanding up to that point.
Then the communication stopped after being requested to break the law several times(I told [redacted], I could not legally give her [redacted] phone number or address as she was requesting). That is when I stopped calling [redacted] back. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience this caused Alem. And if I could of fixed it and got the keys I would of done it.

Sincerely,

[redacted]
President
