Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 11022572, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meI would appreciate reimbursement of $which is half of the original cost ($636.50) of which I sent to [redacted] in November In addition, I would like to respond to [redacted] ***'s emailAfter reading his email, [redacted] either doesn't remember the facts or has fabricated his story [redacted] stated in his first paragraph that he visited our home because our "water heater failed and was leaking." This was not the caseThe original hot water heater was working fine but due to it's age of years we decided to replace it [redacted] communicated to me the size of water heaters were changing in over the telephone, and it would be a good time to replace it so we could have the same capacityHe also stated that he "drained the water heater the following day" of which the action never occurredThe old water heater was removed and the new one installed on the same day In his email, he indicated an "original leak" which never happened, and if it had I would have immediately contacted my insurance company His "comprehend" comment was insulting to my wife I find this comment very unprofessionalHe was not present for the installationI noticed the leak as the technicians ( [redacted] + 1) were in my attic I have an invoice for installation which does not address any overflow but simply a hot water heater installation of which was paid in full at time of installation Regards, [redacted] / [redacted] Style Definitions */

I received a call from *** *** that the water heater in the attic had failed and was leaking through the ceiling on to the floorUpon arriving at the house, I went into the attic and found the pan full of water and overflowing on to the top of the ceiling in the attic and
subsequently to the floor of the second floorWe turned off the heaterWe observed the water damage as being at an area about and 1/feet on a sheet rock seem directly below the heaterIn addition the water had followed a sheet rock seem for a distance of about feet perpendicular to this leak and damaged the ceiling for this distance. We drained the water heater the following day and and during the process of removing the heater which would not drain completely, water which was still in the heater which was still leaking drained on to the top of the ceiling in the attic and dripped down the same foot damaged area below the heater because it was still wet and crackedThe amount of water that leaked was very little, perhaps a quart of water from a hole in the bottom of the water heater. The water did not appear when we were there and could have possibly still been on the top of the saturated ceiling and slowly dripped through the next dayI received a call then that water had been "spilled" when we replaced the heaterI went to look at it and saw that the water had leaked through the same already damaged seem about three feet longI informed her that I would send a contractor over to give an estimate for the repairThe contractor looked at the damaged area and that we were told we caused, and indicated that the damage was already there from the original water heater leakI tried to get the contractor to give me an estimate for the repair, but he did not and I therefore never had anything done. If we cause a leek I usually repair it if it was not already damaged by the original leakI hope *** *** can comprehend this, but if she cannot I will pay the minimum charge , being 1/of her leak damage from the original water heater burst and pan overflow event

I have reviewed
the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 11022572, and
find that this resolution is satisfactory to meI would appreciate
reimbursement of $which is half of the original cost ($636.50) of which
I sent to [redacted] in November
In addition, I
would like to respond to [redacted]'s emailAfter reading his email, [redacted]
either doesn't remember the facts or has fabricated his story.
[redacted] stated
in his first paragraph that he visited our home because our "water heater
failed and was leaking." This was not the caseThe original hot water
heater was working fine but due to it's age of years we decided to replace
it. [redacted] communicated to me the size of water heaters were changing
in over the telephone, and it would be a good time to replace it so we
could have the same capacityHe also stated that he "drained the water heater the following day" of which the action never occurredThe old water heater was removed and the new one installed on the same day.
In his email, he
indicated an "original leak" which never happened, and if it had I
would have immediately contacted my insurance company. His
"comprehend" comment was insulting to my wife. I find this comment very unprofessionalHe was not
present for the installationI noticed the leak as the technicians ([redacted] +
1) were in my attic. I have an invoice for installation which does not address
any overflow but simply a hot water heater installation of which was paid in
full at time of installation
