Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me

Received final payment for work done as stated previously

I am rejecting this response because:Mr***'s response is full of contrary and incomplete information, he is leaving our numerous facts about timely completion and proposed scope creepHe kept stating he was going to have a building inspector inspect his work, this never occurred despite numerous requests - despite numerous repeated requests for receipts he never provided them - the receipts he provided are not valid and in fact fraudulentHe is a fraud and is preying on the unsuspectingHe and his buddy "Sean" said they been kicked out by a woman under very similar circumstancesThis individual Perry *** is a criminal and is not conducting himself honestly with you nor has he with anyone he interactsHe needs to be put on notice so that no other unsuspecting homeowner falls prey to his confidence gameHe talks a good game and tries to win people over similar to his dishonest response to youIf he repays the $ I will be happy to rescind my claim

I received a call in response to an Ad from Mr. [redacted] to do some repair work at his home. I went and looked at the job. The job was to finish the outside of a glass block window installation that was incomplete. I  quoted him a price of $200 plus materials to finish the outside trim and he...

agreed. While there he informed us he was interested in getting more work done on his house. His plan was to combine 2 bedrooms to make one large Master bedroom, remove some walls, and make 2 small closets into one large closet, and enlarge the bathroom, add a shower, tile, ect. He showed my sub contractor and I around the house. He also said he eventually he wanted to redo his Kitchen, and Jack up the garage. While there we noticed that the inside of the window was incomplete as well, and improperly done. We explained that the window was installed wrong, and posed a potential problem in the future and should be reinforced. He asked us to repair the inside as well. I quoted him $300 plus materials for the repair, he agreed. The bathroom was in the process of being gutted. He told us he had some Mexican laborer guys doing the work. He also asked me if we did roofing. He explained his plan to remove a chimney to make more room in the area, and if we could patch the hole in the roof for him. I quoted him a price of $250 plus materials for the  repair, he agreed. He explained that he wanted to do the renovation in phases, and stages, starting with the bathroom, then the bedroom, closet expansion, the reason being he wanted to remain within his budget and pay as the work progressed. The first phase of the bathroom  job was to build a shower wall set a shower pan and install cement board (estimate 000071 labeled part one, phase one $1050) I emailed it to him on 12-10-16 (date of estimate) he responded by text with his acceptance, we began peliminary work on the bathroom phase. The next estimate which he requested was to remove a load bearing wall between bedrooms to create one large space, he also asked us if we could replace the baseboard in the living room, as he had new furniture being delivered. (Estimate 000179 $1400 I emailed it on 12-21) flush beam installation, and living room trim. And the third estimate was (closet framing, demo phase 2 part B  $350) I obtained a permit from the city of Crystal and proceeded. Mr [redacted]s assertion that we could potentially perpetrate a "creep scam" are outrageous. It was he who asked us to do the job in "Phases" we tried to accommodate his budget and schedule. We installed the beam, framed the closet, installed the baseboard and new vents, started on the bathroom, and paid for the materials and permit. On Jan 1st Mr [redacted] informed me that  he was shutting down the project until February, at which time he would he would "revisit" the project. I responded professionally with an invoice 1-1-16  containing the materials and permit cost. and labor completed thus far. I recieved and email at 413 AM on 1-2-16 stating he was putting our tools outside, "no reciepts, no payment" and that he had overpaid us, and to consider that payment for the materials, and he had asked me 5 times for the reciepts and to not contact him again. I made an attempt to resolve the dispute, to no avail. In subsequent emails I will send you the 3 estimates, all of the email and text correspondence, copies of the receipts, the permit, and pictures if needed. The checks he is claiming for the bathroom phase were written prior to the bathroom estimate (submitted 12-10) and had nothing to do with the bathroom phase (take note of the date of the estimate, the dates of the checks, and the amounts of the checks (written prior to the bathroom estimate) They were for the repair work he first contacted us about, as I explained above. I have no interest of pursuing any legal action against Mr. [redacted] to collect any unpaid balance, it isn't worth the time, energy, or the stress involved. I am rejecting this response because:
This team doesn't do the finishing work on projects.  When we repeatedly asked them to do that before beginning something new, they made promises they didn't keep and it is still unfinished.  The weird thing is, we didn't care about extra expenses.  We just wanted it done.  We told Perry to let us know any additional costs and we would pay it.  However, that amount would probably have been 100-200.  It included things like putting on a switch plate, repairing a door latch, and the longer job of finishing a door jam that they removed rather than replace window panes in a French door. After a few times of this I felt like there was extortion going on.  They took out all of our cabinets in our bathroom including the sink when they knew we couldn't afford it for a month!  We're still without a sink in the bathroom.  Then they did things to harm our home.  Again, we just wanted it done right, we didn't care about extra money, but I don't think Perry cared about little money, so he didn't finish the work.  He was going to put trim in our laundry room and installed naked timber we'll have to have someone take out, stain and varnish before it goes back in.  He was going to put drywall over an area that has repeatedly cracked and he just stuffed a compound in there and charged us 100.00.  He did not paint over it or finish the repair.  We were very clear we wanted to put the house on the market. Now, we found someone else who will do the bathroom but they want to tear out every thing Perry did because they don't think he supported the bathtub to code.  I'm pretty sure that is accurate because he "discovered" another way to do it when we said the quoted price to repair to was out of our budget.  Lastly, we've been waiting one some hardware for our windows for four months.  Perry finally told us he hadn't ordered them--all through the winter--that would have kept our windows closed tightly!  Finally, it came and he installed them but didn't varnish the wood or replace a piece of molding that was missing.  Regarding the windows and the trim, we are going to have to pay someone to take out what Perry did and replace it.  When I realized that, I wasn't sure I wanted this dangerous person in my home anymore.  Who would do bad work when they could just bill us for the extra cost of a properly finished job?  It was so bizarre.  Lastly, to tear out the bathroom that Perry did is nearly a 2000 dollar extra cost.  We're still trying to find someone who will build on top of it, but until then, I'm a special ed teacher, I have a child with down syndrome in the home and my husband has a processing disorder.  Perry knew all of this and still left me with so many unfinished tasks we missed the marketing window.  It's been a disaster.

Finished Job. Resolved with Customer. Received final Payment for agreed upon work 4-28-2017. Thinking about starting an organization for contractors "Better Customer Bureau" actually did more then agreed upon.
