I received a letter that my son was accepted into rhe Envision STEM program for academic excellence and being a high acgiever. He actually received a partial scholarship in addition. I called Envision two months before the program began and expressed the fact I could not continue making payments as the remaining amount was still too expensive.I also expressed that my son was too young to fly into the Atlanta airport as an unaccompanied minor so I would have to take him personally and pay for a hotel for a week. I tried to get back the 800.00 that I already paid. I was unsuccessful and told I would have to get a letter from his doctor expressing why my son could not participate and basically make up reasons why his ADHD would interfere. I continued to make the final payment the following month. I could not afford to take him so my elderly parents drove up to Atlanta and took my hotel reservation which turned out to be 880.00 at completion of the week. When he arrived, my oarents stated that they mistly played games and would go out on the field and play soccor during a break every day. My son also called me and stated he was at Barnes and Nobles on a 40 minute break at Emory campus buying tee shirt and hat. When he got home, I looked at his cellphone which he was required to bring and saw that the friends who he net were texting him throughout the day everyday. These texts were in poor taste and raucous in nature and graphic. I knew these students he was placed with were not " high achievers" as the printed materials and invitations stated that everyone attends comes from a sekect group of high achievers.
I fell for a scam. I have the receipts of what I paid for the program, my oarents' bill for the hotel, a copy of receipt when my son went to Barnes Noble and pictures of their three hour breaks nightly. I was told there are five intensive days of study and that is why the program is priced so highly. I would like a refund for the cist of the program that I paid foooor 1050.00. My oarents lost their money on a hotel for a week and cists associated to driving him up there.
