took it to a mechanic to have it inspectedShe then returned to the dealership with her boyfriend, who drove the truck, did his own inspection, and offered his opinion that it was okay to purchaseMs *** then purchased the truck, taking out a loan to purchase it.Mr *** says when he first heard from Ms *** a couple of weeks after purchase, she indicated the 'check engine' light had come onHe referred her to the mechanic the dealership uses, explaining that this mechanic might be able to save her some money, versus a Chevy dealership, etcHe says Ms *** called back again sometime later, and he once again referred her to Vince, the mechanic Epic Auto uses.When Epic Auto initially received this complaint letter, Mr *** says he left a voicemail for Ms ***, reminding her that the truck was purchased "as is," and inviting her to contact him with questions.Mr *** points out that in the state of Minnesota, any vehicle with upwards of 75,miles on it is considered "as is" (no warranty), and that Ms *** is incorrect in saying that she had any sort of day warranty or guarantee on the vehicle.While Epic Auto is willing to put Ms *** in touch with its mechanic with the hope of saving her some money on repairs, it feels she had ample opportunity to test drive and inspect the vehicle prior to purchase, and declines to pay for or reimburse any repairs at this time given that it was purchased "as is" in accordance with Minnesota Used Car Warranty law
