About three weeks ago I had a car alarm installedWhen I called and asked how much they charged they told meI asked it if opened the doors and if it had a shakerCome to find out I have to use the key to open the door and the trunk does not openThey want to charge me $to turn up the volume of the alarm and $to be able to open the trunkI paid $to this business but did not receive what was presented to me during the time of sale

An agreement was made between myself and the owner of this company in front of a witness and written contract That I would make parking lot repairs to another lot located at *** *** ** In exchange for auto repairs for my Dodge Ram A set amount was figured at $ We provided per contract, whereas Epic Auto did not The repairs need for my vehicle to pass inspection whereof all: ball joints, tie rods, disk breaks and pads, plus anything that would require the vehicle to be safe and pass state inspection The only thing was completed was one ball joint Refused to any further work because the water drains installed where of a hard plastic and not of iron which is nowhere mention in the contract nor ever discussed until the job was completed several days later Note this is not the first time Epic has worked on my vehicles He has actually worked on other my vehicles with no problems

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/09/14) */
The original request was made to install there part, a fan. The fan that was in the vehicle was broken and not mounted to anything. It was completely unsecured, it had no mounting tabs and so comparing the existing fan to the new part was...

impossible. The new part was installed and tested. Vehicle was test driven and fan operation was tested with a scan tool since it would not activate naturally. Customer was informed that the fan was not working properly due to a malfunction in the vehicle cooling system wiring or sensor. We were asked to "put it back the way it was", which was directly to an ignition feed under the hood at the fuse box. It was wired to the ignition activation and vehicle was picked up by customer. The vehicle was at Epic the next morning and we were informed the coolant had all leaked out. We conducted a complimentary diagnostic (normally $89.99) and found a indentation in the radiator in the center at a location that looked like the mounting nut to the cooling fan blade would be. We informed the customer they should talk to the place they purchased the fan and inform them the fan was warped and damaged the radiator. We advised they should take pictures and if need be we would talk to them on there behalf as well. Days past with no communication from the customer, they then returned to Epic with there Uncle and asked if we would help them and install a replacement fan and radiator. After some conversation making sure to clarify and fully understand the situation, I agreed to install radiator and fan, a value of approx $280. I also told them we would be able to check to make sure fan was good if we had a radiator outside of the car, visibility of fan is not possible when mounted in vehicle. A few days went by and then on Mon 8/31 I received a call asking to help further and remove the radiator for free. I informed that I was very short staffed and that would be hard and I had already agreed to provide over three hrs of free labor. She then said well I can give you $25 but that her uncle who was suppose to remove it had "played" them and was not taking it out. I said I would call back when I could figure out a time. She then was at the shop Thursday morning with a tow truck complaining I did not call her back to tell her when I could do the removal. I asked why she didn't call me she said she didn't want to bug me. So then requested a refund and informed me she had to walk to the shop to have to have the vehicle towed away. I asked what was going on since her uncle had came to the shop on Tuesday or Wednesday and so I thought maybe he had decided to take the radiator out, they had asked me if he could remove it while it was at the shop a few days earlier and I said sure. I do apologize the customer feels neglected, that is never our intent. I spent a lot of time with the customer before any work was performed trying to help give her direction on her vehicle and I was not asking for any work simply educating the customer on the condition of her vehicle. I agreed to install the parts at no charge, I agreed to help the customer talk to the parts company to get her parts warrantied. I agreed to let her uncle use our facility to remove the radiator. I spent approx an hour educating the customer on her vehicle with no purchase made or arranged. I agreed to install the new part at no charge.

She called me three different times asking about the door locks.  I asked her to come in so we could take a look.  She said twice that she would come in and never came did.  Our basic alarm is $140 which does not include keyless entry or trunk release, but for additional labor...

charges, that can be added.  It is usually $100 for keyless entry installation but we were going to discount it to be $60, making the total for both $200.  She said she didn’t want it at that point because she didn’t have the money at that time.  We put in the basic alarm and she said the siren wasn’t very loud, so we asked her to bring it in to make sure it was functioning properly since she has a lifetime warranty on the installation and a 12 month on the product.  She never came back in for us to check it.  She called again about the keyless entry, which I explained to her again.  Our aftermarket key fobs have features with a lock/unlock symbol, trunk, remote start, etc.,  but she only paid for the standard alarm feature.

I am responding to complaint ID # [redacted].  I entered into an agreement with [redacted] to trade parking lot resurfacing and sealing and drain adding to the lot in exchange for repairs for his vehicle to pass safety inspection.  He began working on the lot, the work was not completed...

and what was performed was not to an acceptable standard.  When I spoke with him and his coworker about the unacceptable standard of work, an agreement was made that the services that had already been performed on his truck would be acceptable for the work that was already performed on the lot and that no further work was necessary from either party.  This was a verbal agreement between [redacted], his coworker and myself.  I have a history of working on [redacted]'s vehicles and we have had no problems.  I am disappointed that this complaint was filed one without ever discussing anything with Epic Automotive and second, since an agreement was made at the time the services were exchanged that alerted the arrangement since the work was unacceptable.  My records show that front end work totaling $168.07 was performed.  I have attached a copy of this invoice and the parts purchase order for the repair performed.
