Epik disputes that it was from day one the shower stall at the ***'s house leaked. We did many projects at the *** house and were finishing up for at least a month after the shower system was in use. They had used it for approximately months. It was at that time we received a
call about a shower stall leak. We went to diagnose the problem and indeed found the problem was the drain pan which Epik specifically recommended NOT to use. The client insisted we install this, because they liked the way it looked. This drain pan did not meet proper county codes nor did it meet the manufacturer's specifications for their shower system. However, after explaining this to the client, we did install it with reservation. At that time, we also explained this particular drain would not be under warranty.The shower pan and waterproofing were installed according to the manufacturer's specifications. Had the client allowed the proper drain pan from the beginning, this situation would have never happened.As far as the pipes freezing, it is not possible that they will due to the insulation and spray foam covering the pipes which we installed. As the pipes did not freeze this past winter, this point is irrelevant.After the diagnosis by Epik, we were happy to redo the drain pan with the PROPER drainage system at a cost to the client, knowing the drain pan was faulty. Epik did NOT purchase nor warranty this particular drain system. The client purchased it and insisted we install it even after voicing our concern about it.Epik now assumes no responsibility at this point. After a 3rd party has come in and destroyed the shower pan, waterproofing system and drainage installed by Epik, the warranty is now null and void
