Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/11/24) */ Contact Name and Title: [redacted] Office Manage Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Our providers are in-network with all BCBS plans except AdvantageBCBS cards used to state the plan they represented and were clearly marked AdvantageWe asked the patient if the card had Advantage on it, she said noWe had no knowledge this identifier had been removed from the card by BCBSWe did not file the claim as "in network"We file all claims in the same manner and BCBS pays according to each particular plan, whether in or out of networkIn fact, BCBS did pay the claim only later to ask for a refund due to out-of-network statusThere was no billing error on our partOur only recourse was to bill the patientShe asked if we would pay half of her remaining balance, but we already wrote off a portion off the chargeIn our opinion, BCBS is responsible for this confusion, however we will absorb the $owed and not bill the patient further Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (2000, 7, 2015/11/30) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
