Please see the remarks below for our response to this customers complaint, as well please find two attached invoices that support our re Mr [redacted] called our office on Thursday 10/1/complaining about the service that he had received last year and he asked to speak with a manager I called Mr [redacted] back and we discussed the repairs, his concerns as well as the possible scenario of what could be occurring with his furnace currently, he had wanted me to come to his home for an estimate appointment to replace his furnace which we set for Friday 10/2/ At that time Mr [redacted] told me he wanted his money back for the inducer replacement or else he will post negative reviews online and report us to the Revdex.com I told Mr [redacted] that we only warranty our repairs for days, which is clearly stated on the invoice of the repair we completed on 12/11/14, and that if the furnace truly didn’t work then why did he not have us come out to re-diagnose the problem within the warranty period The furnace clearly worked well enough last winter, during one of the coldest winters we have had in a long time, that he did not feel the need to get it repaired any further then he did when we replaced the inducer As well in his statement he says we stated the fan was seized (not turning) and making a bearing sound, that statement is incorrect As stated on our diagnostic invoice from 11-7-14, the technician noticed a humming sound coming from the inducer (this is a noise commonly heard when volts is applied to a motor, but the motor does not spin) the technician then tapped it several times and it started That is why we recommended replacing the inducer motor We are not going to settle with Mr [redacted] , as we believe he was given the opportunity to make any claims within the day warranty period that we had offered to him on the repair His year old furnace clearly was able to heat his home after the repair, and any condition that the furnace is in now months afterwards does not directly reflect the condition that it was in when our technician had made the initial diagnosis and then repairAnd I don’t have record of Mr [redacted] contacting our company on 1/6/ Please let me know if there is anything other information that you need from us, I look forward to your response and how the Revdex.com will help us resolve this complaintThank You, Phillip YGeneral Manager Airquip & Energywise

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Airquip Energy Wise is obfuscating the issue of their
incompetence with responses that are not relevant to the issue at hand. Instead
of admitting to replacing a part that was not necessary they started to accuse
me of lying about being present when they made their service call. Their proof
was I did not sign their work order or pay for their service call that day. That
claim was utterly ridiculous. I live in a $400,000 home and have valuable
assets all over my home. I would not allow anyone to work in my home
unattended. My wife runs the company and my kids are in college, and there is no one present any time during the day except
for my dog which would preclude anyone
working in my house unattended. I did not pay for the service call that day
because I told them I prefer to use a company check. They got paid several days
later for the service call in question. They’re throwing out random responses
and hoping they stick. I called them several times after the fan was replaced, and the furnace exhibited the
identical issues that were present during their initial diagnostics. They
wanted to charge me a second time for diagnosing the same issues with the furnace
which was unacceptable. They overcharged
me for the parts charging $600 to replace the inducer fan that did not resolve the issue. The furnace
would work with the door off only, and
that was my complaint and what I called Airquip to resolve. I recently called
three other contractors to price a replacement furnace and every one of them
knew almost immediately that the furnace was not defective, and the cause of the issue was a clogged vent. I told
them that Airquip replaced the inducer fan,
and all three confirmed that it was a venting problem and not the fan. They
also commented that if the was the inducer fan that was defective they find it
hard to believe it would function for an additional month with no issues before
Airquip replaced it. The service call to repair the furnace was $150 from one of the contractors mentioned, and
my furnace is working properly. All three contractors are willing to put in
writing that the problem was venting and not the inducer fan motor. I will be
glad to have them submit their diagnostics and resolution in writing for your
review. I also include a yelp review that
clearly demonstrates the incompetence and unethical business practices of this
company. I’m hoping this can be resolved
through the Revdex.com and will go to small claims court.

This customer did send us a letter in regards to this complaint.  Attached is the letter we sent back in response.  All problems the customer experience in the summer after the installation were handled at that time.  On May 27, our office was flooded with phone calls of customers not...

having properly functioning equipment, which is why we were not able to get out there until the following Tuesday.  There must have been some confusion our office employee hanging up on the customer, we have always received great feedback for the professionalism and excellent customer service given by our office employee's.  We received close to 100+ calls on May 27th, 2016 and I did not receive one other complaint about our office staff. As far the the trap itself, that is an item that is always checked on routine maintenance.  It is also a piece that when installed in an attic, may need to be replaced or redone every couple years as the extreme temperatures of an attic can cause the PVC to expand and contract causing the glue to break down.  The customer did not have us complete any of the maintenance on the unit, which is why we referred the customer to speak with the company that had been completing these inspections/maintenance visits. Thank You for reviewing our response, and if you have any questions please reach out to myself at our office - ###-###-####.  Thank You, Phillip Y. Please see the remarks below for our response to this customers complaint, as well please find two attached invoices that support our remarks: Mr. [redacted] called our office on Thursday 10/1/15 complaining about the service that he had received last year and he asked to speak with a manager.  I...

called Mr. [redacted] back and we discussed the repairs, his concerns as well as the possible scenario of what could be occurring with his furnace currently, he had wanted me to come to his home for an estimate appointment to replace his furnace which we set for Friday 10/2/2015.  At that time Mr. [redacted] told me he wanted his money back for the inducer replacement or else he will post negative reviews online and report us to the Revdex.com.  I told Mr. [redacted] that we only warranty our repairs for 30 days, which is clearly stated on the invoice of the repair we completed on 12/11/14, and that if the furnace truly didn’t work then why did he not have us come out to re-diagnose the problem within the 30 warranty period.  The furnace clearly worked well enough last winter, during one of the coldest winters we have had in a long time, that he did not feel the need to get it repaired any further then he did when we replaced the inducer.  As well in his statement he says we stated the fan was seized (not turning) and making a bearing sound, that statement is incorrect.  As stated on our diagnostic invoice from 11-7-14, the technician noticed a humming sound coming from the inducer (this is a noise commonly heard when 120 volts is applied to a motor, but the motor does not spin) the technician then tapped it several times and it started.  That is why we recommended replacing the inducer motor.  We are not going to settle with Mr. [redacted], as we believe he was given the opportunity to make any claims within the 30 day warranty period that we had offered to him on the repair.  His 17 year old furnace clearly was able to heat his home after the repair, and any condition that the furnace is in now 10 months afterwards does not directly reflect the condition that it was in when our technician had made the initial diagnosis and then repair. And I don’t have record of Mr. [redacted] contacting our company on 1/6/2015.  Please let me know if there is anything other information that you need from us, I look forward to your response and how the Revdex.com will help us resolve this complaint.
