Equi-Tech Mechanical Services has been Successfully Serving Arizona Residents Since We at Equi-Tech take Pride in Our Continued Reputation of Quality Customer Service, Workmanship, as well as Equipment and Materials We ProvideOur Immaculate Record with the State, Revdex.com and any other Agencies most Definitely Confirms Our Commitment to Excellence We are responding to a Revdex.com Complaint # [redacted] filed in regards to an Air Conditioning Service which We provided to the [redacted] on 07/08/Upon receiving a call from the [redacted] a Service Technician was dispatched same day(Note: Appttimes can be affected due to the time lengths of calls scheduled previously)Upon arriving it was diagnosed that the Outdoor Condensing Fan Motor was defective and needed replaced along with the Run Capacitor , which are Always ***e together for Proper Operation and WarrantyAt that time it was told to the [redacted] that we could put a 1/HP RPM Motor on as We [redacted] t stock 1/HP Motor(Note: the RPM being the Same and being of More Horse Power Not Less..It would be Proper to do this) and it could be Fixed Immediately [redacted] was present throughout and an Estimate was given and the [redacted] agreedAfter replacing the CondMotor using the Original Fan Blade (this is Customary Unless The Blade is Noticeably Damaged it was inspected and seemed to be fine at that time.(These are not a Routinely Stocked Item being that there are many different sizes and specifications for each Brand ).Upon energizing the System ,it became apparent that the Compressor was not starting This can only be determined after the Fan Repair was made ,as it is not suggested to Run the System Without the Fan in Operation(This Avoids any further damage to the Compressor which may have occurred during its Overheating)Again the [redacted] were present and were told the Compressor Run Capacitor was Also needed as well as a Hard Starting Assist to Kick the Compressor over and Hopefully Start CoolingThe Parts were then applied, the Compressor Started and Cooling occurredThe [redacted] accepted the Additional Repairs witnessing that System would Not Run without themPressures, temperatures, etcwere taken and the system was deemed good(Slight vibrations were present on outer coil guards and top grill which seem to Always be the case, when these models get older (yrsAccording to Mr [redacted] ) and serviced through the years An invoice was then presented to the [redacted] and signed At this time a Payment Plan needed to be negotiated, as the [redacted] made Us aware that they did not have all the Funds to pay for the completed work ($950.32..After Re- Addition the total came to$946.32)An agreement was made as the [redacted] said they could only pay $right then ,and would pay the remaining balance in Full on 08/03/To this, We decided to allow the [redacted] to Pay the Entire Amount at Once on 08/03/as a Courtesy (In-House ,No Interest Short Term Loan) On 07/17/We were called out regarding the Unit vibratingThe unit was inspected and the Motor and Blade were again checked, the Fan Blade was adjusted slightly and everything was Tight which seemed to solve the problemThe [redacted] seemed satisfied and at this point decided to pay $ of Their bill right then on a credit cardIt was swiped, approved and recordedAnother Invoice was made and Signed by the [redacted] stating that a payment of $again would be charged to their credit card and the Balance to be charged on 08/03/On 07/23/was attempted to be charged to the card and was DeclinedWe then contacted the [redacted] and were told they didn’t have the money and We would have to Wait till 08/03/to charge the card .Noting that this was the Day the Entire Remaining Balance was to be Paid and Settled (Note: No Complaints were made with guards to any current problems with the Unit) We accepted the [redacted] proposal and would waitOn 08//Again We tried to charge the [redacted] card and Once Again it was DeclinedWe called the [redacted] and told them of this and at this point they started to complain of vibrations in the UnitWe Again sent out a Technician and had the Entire Motor Replaced (Obviously at No Charge), feeling the motor bearings might be off slightlyAlso at this time it was decided to insert Soft Rubber Pipe Insulation inside the Coil Guard to possibly assist in anti vibrations(This is Commonly [redacted] as a gentle remedy especially to Older Equipment )This time the [redacted] called Us and told us the old fan blade had come off the New Motor, fell down and dented a copper line insideAt this point we sent a Technician out and the situation was assessed, decided that the tightening set screw was striped and a Brand New Fan Blade was obtained and installed within Hours that Same Day (No Charge)Again everything appeared to be Fine and the [redacted] seemed SatisfiedShortly after We called the [redacted] as a follto be sure all was Good and Possibly Collect some of the Remaining Balance, the [redacted] Once More told Us things were Fine but We would have to Wait for Our Money and at this Point were Accusing Us of Harassing themPlease Note: At No Time Does Equi-Tech use any Non-Ethical Tactics while attempting to make Collections But We Do Reserve the Right to Pursue It in the Proper MannerNow, Shortly After this Conversation ,the [redacted] call Us and tell Us that the Brand New Motor and Fan Blade had Fallen DownWe Again show-up, Not Long After and find the New Motor and Fan Blade Still Attached Together and lying Gently on the Top of the Compressor Undamaged What so Ever and all of the Tightening Nuts were lying on the Inside Bottom of the UnitAbsolutely No Damage had been ***e to Anything and it was Noticed some pieces of the Rubber Pipe Insulation were missing(Note: These Pieces were in a Secure Area and could Not Possibly, Just Fall Out)At this point, We decided this was a Very Questionable Situation, REASON BEING IF the Motor and Fan Blade Both Fall Together Much Damage Would Have to Occur to the Motor and Blade as well as the UnitWe continued on to Inspect Everything , Including taking the New Fan Blade off and Positively Confirming that it was still Perfectly BalancedIt was Decided that We would Also Apply a bit of 15% Silver Solder to the Copper which had been Slightly dented Earlier to Add Even more Strength ,to Eliminate any Question of the Integrity of the Line (Note: This was only a Minimal Dent in the Thick Wall Type L 7/8” Copper Line and Most Definitely was Not a Kink and In NO WAY Restricted the Flow of Refrigerant as to Affect Operation of the Equipment)We proceeded to Re-Install the Motor and Blade, Only This Time We decided to Install Small Fender Washers, Small Lock Nuts and New Nuts along with Applying thread Locking Compound to the Motor Studs for Additional InsuranceWe Again Re- Inserted the New Pieces of Rubber Foam Pipe Insulation Inside the Coil Guards in select locations to Assist in Anti-Vibration and All Screws were Made Sure to be Back In TactWE started the Unit , it Cooled Properly along with NO VIBRATIONSPictures and Video were also taken at that time of the Unit Running ProperlyBefore leaving, [redacted] Told Me, [redacted] Hoch (Owner) in Person, that they Would Have OUR Money on 09/03/We called the [redacted] on 09/03/and were told they were Not Intending to Pay Us, that Revdex.com had been ContactedAlso They would take us to Court if We Didn’t Submit to Their DemandsAt this time I Informed [redacted] that the Equipment that was Installed and They had Been Using for the Last 2+Months to Stay Cool belonged to US Until it was Paid For IN FULL, Just as it is Stated on the Contracts They had SignedNO Mention of Police or Anything of the Sort had Ever been Mentioned by Equi-Tech*In Closing, Equi-Tech Would like to Acknowledge that We Did have Some Problems with the [redacted] Unit and at the same time Equi- Tech would like to Note OUR Diligence to Correct Any Problems AND Our Generosity and Trust to Extend Unsecured Credit to the [redacted] as Well as Patience in the process to be Paid To this Day, Equi-Tech has Only Received $(on a card) from the [redacted] and Request that Payment in Full be Arranged *Note: Equi-Tech did Consult Goodman Manufacturing Tech Support in regards to the [redacted] concerns to the weight of Our Replacement Motor and were Assured by them, that was NOT An IssueWe also sited Comparable Universal Replacement RPM 1/6-1/Motors offered through-out the Industry and Verified Our Equipment was Within Perimeters of Many Frequently Used Manufacturer’s Equipment *Thank You for Your Considerations Sincerely, [redacted] (Owner /GM)

On initial appearance this company looks and sounds greatI was quoted a fabulous price over the phone in an emergency situation and the they were able to send someone out that dayAfter a technician came to the house and I already gave authorization over the phone ( I was at work) the work was completed and I was called afterwards for them to collect paymentThe initial quote compared to the actual bill was no where even close to the same ball parkBeing the work was already completed the owner *** said he would take $off to make things betterStill not even close to the initial quote, but live and learn the A/C was fixed $later for a motor replacement and forced to pay a "service fee" to make sure my freon was goodOh wellI come home to a nice cool house and go to see what the temp is inside my home to find a business sticker on my very expensive thermostatAnd this was not just any little sticker that could easily be pealed off, no this thing was put on with gorilla glueAfter a little scrubbing and careful pealing I was able to remove the sticker without any damageNow fast forward a month, a big storm comes and I go out to check on my A/C unit to find wires hanging out of the unit, the weatherproofing door barely hanging on because of some part that was replace that is no where close to being able to fit in the actual spot its suppose toI call *** the owner to try to get someone to come "clean up" the wire work so it doesn't look like a 3yr old put it together and I was informed that is the only way that it can be done and he has been in business for 25yrs and has never had anyone complain about thisNow I know electrical work and he was trying to give me some song and dance that might be able to be believed by someone who doesn't know any better but not in this caseLong story short people make sure if you hire this company get all quotes in writing prior to them working on anything and go out and double check their work to make sure it is up to standardI for one will never use this company again nor will I ever recommend it to anyone either

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

7/8/2014 ;  Had contacted Equi-Tech Mechanical to service AC unit.  After arriving, found that outside condenser fan motor was bad
and that all other parts were good. Was quoted $450 - $500 to replace fan motor and for service call. Was told I needed
to sign to authorize work. At this time, it was storming with rain, lighting and winds and was given a blank invoice and I
was told that it would be filled in when completed due to getting repairs finished because of the lighting and rain here. I
have [redacted]e business with [redacted] (owner) in past and felt no reason to distrust the request of the tech to sign the invoice.
Tech than tore down unit, removed motor assembly. He then installed a new motor and put old fan blade back on new
motor. Once back together, tech went to start AC unit but would not start. At that time, tech began removing parts on
unit, went to truck and got some new parts, stalled them, rewired the unit. AC unit started and seem to be working. At
that time I noticed that there was a vibration and it was noisy and said it never was like that prior to repairs. Tech said
there was nothing he could do. Said he would let [redacted] know about it We were at his van, storming bad, and the tech
filled out the invoice that I signed to authorize repairs. Tech handed me a invoice and started to leave. I stopped him and
asked what was going on, invoice was for $950 Told him that I was quoted half that amount, why it was for $950. He
he mis-quoted me and that was the cost. said he was sorry and take it up with [redacted], then left. I called [redacted] and was told
he would check it out and get back to me.  .

7/16/2014;    Contacted [redacted] and complained about vibration and noise, said tech would be out Tech showed up 2 hours later. Once
he checked AC unit out, he said that the fan blade was to far down on motor shaft which was making howling noise
and raised fan blade up 3 inches on motor shaft. He then place foam rubber in different places in between the coil and
the outside metal cover because [redacted] told him to do it. Said that was the best he could do. Then he left.

7/26/2014;    Contacted [redacted], Ac unit not working. Techs arrived, checked unit out and found fan blade had slid down motor shaft and
was bent from hitting copper tubing, along with bending motor shaft and gouged copper tubing. Had to pick up a new
motor and fan blade because did not have. 2 hours later, came back and installed new motor and fan blade. Once the
unit was together and running, the vibration and noise was still present and complained. Was told that it was probably
like that all the time, we just did not noticed it. The AC unit sit outside my Mothers bedroom window ad said that it was
not noisy or clunking when unit is running or going off. Again, more foam rubber was placed in between coil and the units
outside metal cover. Again was told it was the best they could do and left. My Mother then called [redacted] and was told to
put a brick on top of unit. Said that's what someone had told him to do to help stop the vibration.

7/28/2014    Called [redacted] and complained about vibration and noise, it was getting worse. No action taken and told us again that it
was a cheap unit and could not do anything about.  The AC unit was installed originally by Equi-Tech Mechanical
and had have it for 12 years with never any problems and now it was a  "cheap unit"

8/18/2014;   Called [redacted], AC unit not working. This time [redacted] came here for the first time along with 2 techs. Checked unit and the
found that the whole motor / fan assembly had dropped entirely from the top down into the unit. The holding nuts had
worked loose from vibration ( which were only on bolts 2 threads ) causing assembly to come loose and drop. Motors
mounting holes were enlarged from moving around from vibration and were size of mounting bolt nuts. At this time, [redacted]
left and the techs sat in their van. About 49 minutes later, [redacted] showed back up. [redacted] and the techs went back to the
AC unit and took apart. Then took fan blade and set it on the sidewalk and straightened out the fan blades and installed
it back on motor. They put back together, this time [redacted] put I - 1 1/2" washer, ! locking washer and put thread locker on
mounting bolts and replaced mounting nuts. Also more foam rubber was added in between coil and outside steel cover.
Then instead of removing damaged area of copper tube and replace it, he had his techs put a glob of melted solder over
Once started, vibration and noise was still there and top of unit where motor mounts was flexing when unit runs. This
time, I was getting upset and my Mother came out. She told [redacted] that it was not right and she to was unhappy with all
hassles that we been through for the past weeks. [redacted] told us again, its a cheap unit and to put a brick on top of the
unit to help sop the vibration and that he could not do anything else. They all left.

Since then I have contacted [redacted] with no results'  [redacted] has received $200 so far for services.

                    My resolution to resolve this issue is described below;

[redacted] will except the $200 he has already received on the original quote of $450 - $500 with the remaining balance to
be signed off as paid in full for the hassles and inconvenience that my Mother ( who has medical conditions ) in which
she needed to leave her house  ( roughly 15 hours ) due to not having AC to keep cool and jeopardizing her health
and myself have been put through. I would also release [redacted] ( owner )  and the business Equi-Tech Mechanical from
any further obligations that would be covered by warranties or services that have been performed by his business.

                                                                                                OR

I will have a Licensed AC contractor ( of my choice ) come out and repair or correct what was serviced or repaired
by Equi-Tech Mechanical and have all cost, no matter the amount, to be paid by [redacted] ( owner ) of the business or

Thank you for your assistance in this matter,

                                                                               [redacted]

According to Mr. [redacted])  and serviced through the years.  An invoice was then presented to the [redacted] and signed.
At this time a Payment Plan needed to be negotiated, as the [redacted]  made Us aware that they did not have all the Funds to pay for the completed work ($950.32..After Re- Addition the total came to$946.32). An agreement was made as the [redacted] said they could only pay $200.00 right then ,and would pay the remaining balance in Full on 08/03/2014. To this, We decided to allow the [redacted] to Pay the Entire Amount at Once on 08/03/2014 as a Courtesy (In-House ,No Interest Short Term Loan).  On 07/17/2014 We were called out regarding the Unit vibrating. The unit was inspected and the Motor and Blade were again checked, the Fan Blade was adjusted slightly and everything was Tight which seemed to solve the problem. The [redacted] seemed satisfied and at this point decided to pay $ 100.00 of Their bill right then on a credit card. It was swiped, approved and recorded. Another Invoice was made and Signed by the [redacted] stating that a payment of $100.00 again would be charged to their credit card and the Balance to be charged on 08/03/2014. On 07/23/2014 4100.00 was attempted to be charged to the card and was Declined. We then contacted the [redacted] and were told they didn’t have the money and We would have to Wait till 08/03/2014 to charge the card….Noting that this was the Day the Entire Remaining Balance was to be Paid and Settled (Note: No Complaints were made with guards to any current problems with the Unit).  We accepted the [redacted] proposal and would wait. On 08/03 /2014 Again We tried to charge the [redacted] card and Once Again it was Declined. We called the [redacted] and told them of this and at this point they started to complain of vibrations in the Unit. We Again sent out a Technician and had the Entire Motor Replaced (Obviously at No Charge), feeling the motor bearings might be off slightly. Also at this time it was decided to insert Soft Rubber Pipe Insulation inside the Coil Guard to possibly assist in anti vibrations. (This is Commonly [redacted] as a gentle remedy especially to Older Equipment ). This time the [redacted] called Us and told us the old fan blade had come off the New Motor, fell down and dented a copper line inside. At this point we sent a Technician out and the situation was assessed, decided that the tightening set screw was striped and a Brand New Fan Blade was obtained and installed within Hours that  Same Day (No Charge). Again everything  appeared to be Fine and the [redacted] seemed Satisfied. Shortly after We called the [redacted] as a follow-up to be sure all was Good and Possibly Collect some of the Remaining Balance, the [redacted] Once More told Us things were Fine but We would have to Wait for Our Money and at this Point were Accusing Us of Harassing them. Please Note: At No Time Does Equi-Tech use any Non-Ethical Tactics while attempting to make Collections But We Do Reserve the Right to Pursue It in the Proper Manner. Now, Shortly After this Conversation ,the [redacted]  call Us and tell Us that the Brand New Motor and Fan Blade had Fallen Down. We Again show-up, Not Long After and find the New Motor and Fan Blade Still Attached Together and lying Gently on the Top of the Compressor…Undamaged What so Ever and all 4 of the Tightening Nuts were lying on the Inside Bottom of the Unit. Absolutely No  Damage had been [redacted]e to Anything and it was Noticed some pieces of the Rubber Pipe Insulation were missing. (Note: These Pieces were in a Secure Area and could Not Possibly, Just Fall Out). At this point, We decided this was a Very Questionable Situation, REASON BEING IF the Motor and Fan Blade Both Fall Together… Much Damage Would Have to Occur to the Motor and  Blade as well as the Unit. We continued on to Inspect Everything , Including taking the New Fan Blade off and Positively Confirming that it was still Perfectly Balanced. It was Decided that We would Also Apply a bit of 15% Silver Solder to the Copper which had been Slightly dented Earlier to Add Even more Strength ,to Eliminate any Question of the Integrity of the Line.   (Note: This was only a Minimal Dent in the Thick Wall Type L 7/8” Copper Line and Most Definitely was Not a Kink and In NO WAY Restricted the Flow of Refrigerant as to Affect Operation of the Equipment). We proceeded to Re-Install the Motor and Blade, Only This Time We decided to Install 4 Small Fender Washers, 4 Small Lock Nuts and 4 New Nuts along with Applying thread Locking Compound to the Motor Studs for Additional Insurance. We Again Re- Inserted the New Pieces of Rubber Foam Pipe Insulation Inside the Coil Guards in select locations to Assist in Anti-Vibration and All Screws were Made Sure to be Back In Tact. WE started the Unit , it Cooled Properly along with NO VIBRATIONS. Pictures and Video were also taken at that time of the Unit Running Properly. Before leaving, [redacted] Told Me, [redacted] Hoch (Owner) in Person, that they Would Have OUR Money on 09/03/2014. We called the [redacted] on 09/03/2014 and were told they were Not Intending to Pay Us, that Revdex.com had been Contacted. Also They would take us to Court if We Didn’t Submit to Their Demands. At this time I Informed [redacted] that the Equipment that was Installed and They had Been Using for the Last 2+Months to Stay Cool belonged to US Until it was Paid For IN FULL, Just as it is Stated on the Contracts They had Signed. NO Mention of Police or Anything of the Sort had Ever been Mentioned by Equi-Tech. *In Closing, Equi-Tech Would like to Acknowledge that We Did have Some Problems with the [redacted] Unit and at the same time Equi- Tech would like to Note OUR Diligence to Correct Any Problems AND Our Generosity and Trust to Extend Unsecured Credit to the [redacted] as Well as Patience in the process to be Paid . To this Day, Equi-Tech has Only Received $100.00 (on a card) from the [redacted] and Request that Payment in Full be Arranged.
*Note: Equi-Tech did Consult Goodman Manufacturing Tech Support in regards to the [redacted] concerns to the weight of Our Replacement Motor and were Assured by them,  that  was NOT An Issue. We also sited Comparable Universal Replacement 825 RPM 1/6-1/3 Motors offered through-out the Industry and Verified Our Equipment was Within Perimeters of Many Frequently Used Manufacturer’s Equipment.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I was told that I needed to send this information about my complaint filed against Equi-Tech Mechanical

[redacted]
Complaint # [redacted]

                    My resolution to resolve this issue is described below;

                                                                               [redacted]

We are responding to a Revdex.com Complaint #[redacted] filed in regards to an Air Conditioning Service which We provided to the [redacted] on 07/08/2014. Upon receiving a call from the [redacted] a Service Technician was dispatched .. same day. (Note: Appt. times can be affected due to the time lengths of calls scheduled previously). Upon arriving it was diagnosed that the Outdoor Condensing Fan Motor was defective and needed replaced along with the Run Capacitor , which are Always [redacted]e together for Proper Operation and Warranty. At that time  it was told to the [redacted] that we could put a 1/3 HP 825 RPM Motor on as We [redacted] t stock 1/6 HP 825 Motor. (Note: the RPM being the Same and  being of More Horse Power…Not Less..It would be Proper to do this)  and it could be Fixed Immediately.  [redacted] was present throughout and an Estimate was given and the [redacted] agreed. After replacing the Cond. Motor using the Original Fan Blade (this is Customary Unless The Blade is Noticeably Damaged  it was inspected and seemed to be fine at that time.(These are not a Routinely Stocked Item being that there are many different sizes and specifications for each Brand ).Upon energizing the System ,it became apparent that the Compressor was not starting . This can only be determined after the Fan Repair was made ,as it is not suggested to Run the System Without the Fan in Operation. (This Avoids any further damage to the Compressor which may have occurred during its Overheating). Again the [redacted] were present and were told the Compressor Run Capacitor was Also needed as well as a Hard Starting Assist to Kick the Compressor over and  Hopefully Start Cooling. The Parts were then applied, the Compressor

Started and Cooling occurred. The [redacted] accepted the Additional Repairs witnessing that System would Not Run without them. Pressures, temperatures, etc. were taken and the system was deemed good. (Slight vibrations were present on outer coil guards and top grill…which seem to Always be the case,  when these models get older (12 yrs.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I was told that I needed to send this information about my complaint filed against Equi-Tech Mechanical

Complaint # [redacted]

7/8/2014 ;  Had contacted Equi-Tech Mechanical to service AC unit.  After arriving, found that outside condenser fan motor was bad

and that all other parts were good. Was quoted $450 - $500 to replace fan motor and for service call. Was told I needed

7/16/2014;    Contacted [redacted] and complained about vibration and noise, said tech would be out Tech showed up 2 hours later. Once

put a brick on top of unit.

                    My resolution to resolve this issue is described below;

                                                                               [redacted]

                    My resolution to resolve this issue is described below;

                                                                                                OR

Thank you for your assistance in this matter,

                                                                               [redacted]

Regards,

On initial appearance this company looks and sounds great. I was quoted a fabulous price over the phone in an emergency situation and the they were able to send someone out that day. After a technician came to the house and I already gave authorization over the phone ( I was at work) the work was completed and I was called afterwards for them to collect payment. The initial quote compared to the actual bill was no where even close to the same ball park. Being the work was already completed the owner [redacted] said he would take $50 off to make things better. Still not even close to the initial quote, but live and learn the A/C was fixed $500 later for a motor replacement and forced to pay a "service fee" to make sure my freon was good. Oh well. I come home to a nice cool house and go to see what the temp is inside my home to find a business sticker on my very expensive thermostat. And this was not just any little sticker that could easily be pealed off, no this thing was put on with gorilla glue. After a little scrubbing and careful pealing I was able to remove the sticker without any damage. Now fast forward a month, a big storm comes and I go out to check on my A/C unit to find wires hanging out of the unit, the weatherproofing door barely hanging on because of some part that was replace that is no where close to being able to fit in the actual spot its suppose to. I call [redacted] the owner to try to get someone to come "clean up" the wire work so it doesn't look like a 3yr old put it together and I was informed that is the only way that it can be done and he has been in business for 25yrs and has never had anyone complain about this. Now I know electrical work and he was trying to give me some song and dance that might be able to be believed by someone who doesn't know any better but not in this case.
Long story short people make sure if you hire this company get all quotes in writing prior to them working on anything and go out and double check their work to make sure it is up to standard. I for one will never use this company again nor will I ever recommend it to anyone either.
