Review: Mr. [redacted] was processing a home mortgage for me (2/2013 - 9/2013). I sent all documents he requested the day after he requested them. I sent them by postal mail, fax and email. There are many documents needed to process a mortgage and they contain all manner of personal and financial information. My first complaint is abouttimely response:Mr. [redacted] did not review the documents I sent to see if I prequalified for a mortgage until months later. My second complaint is about respectful communication. Not only did Mr. [redacted] not keep me informed about the processing of my mortgage and did not review the documents in a timely manner, he stopped responding to any call or email and actually blocked the cell and office numbers he originally provided. That the mortgage was not approved is not the subject of this complaint. My third complaint is that Mr. [redacted] asked his assistant to handle mortgage questions that were obviously appropriately directed to a mortgage broker, not an assistant. After a couple of months of this I said that Mr. [redacted] needed to either call me or cancel the mortgage process and return all documents I originally provided and any other documents related to the loan. I first received an email from Mr. [redacted]'s assistant that said he never received the documents. When I objected, I received another email that said he didn't have them. This is outrageous. I've had a number of mortgage brokers before but never anyone who behaved this way. I certainly don't want any further contact with Mr. [redacted] or Equitable Home Mortgage, but I do insist that any and all documents I provided and any other documents related to this mortgage be returned to me by postal mail without further delay. For privacy and identity theft reasons, I do not want any of this information left with anyone connected with Mr. [redacted] or this business. I think this is a reasonable request that should have been granted without having to fine a complaint.Desired Settlement: Return any and all documents requested.

Response:
Per your conversation with [redacted], our response is as follows.
[redacted] had spoken on the phone with Ms. [redacted] regarding her financing options. After obtaining certain information, [redacted] was not able to offer the financing terms requested at the time. We actually counseled her with steps to position herself for financing in the near future. We never received any original documentation from the client. We are obligated to retain any documents provided to us via electronic storage, but had none on file to store. We also would like to address her statement regarding [redacted] blocking her phone number. [redacted] barely uses technology and just in the past 2 years learned how to email. He would definitely not know how to nor would he have any reason to block phone numbers. I had reassured the client on many occasions that [redacted] did not and would not block anyone’s number. [redacted] has been a loan officer for over 25 years with no complaints filed against him. This should speak for the character of [redacted] and how he conducts business.
Thank you for your time. We appreciate your assistance with this.
Thank you,
