I called the Baltimore, MD branch on [redacted]. for a service call. The man who answered the phone completely dehumanized me. I asked two questions trying to discern who I should be speaking to. He rudely and forcefully interrupted me with a loud tone and quick speech. He asked me a "what is your name and who are you with?" when I answered he said now what is it you need...even more rudely now than before. I responded yes, I just ask you a question and that's what I was needing, just the answer. and he blew up on me. I responded saying there was no need to get angry, I was just trying to find the right person. He then said that he was not angry and I was just being sensitive. But it is very easy to tell when someones voice is raised and speech is manic that they are mad. He treated me like an animal with no regard to my needs or requests. He said "I am hanging up now, I am busy. Go bother someone else."
I would understand if I called his cell phone. But I called the branch number and he answered as the representative of this location. It was totally unacceptable the way he spoke to me, and he completely dishonored the Equity Prime Mortgage name. If anyone wishes to do business with them please be careful with this branch. They are total jerks unless you are going to give them money. The guy I spoke to treated me like a was some sort of phone salesman. Even if I was, the representative answering the phone for a company should treat everyone with respect regardless of whether they are giving them business or not.
Original application submitted to American Home Free Mortgage and was transferred to this lender after discloser docs were signed. Now being redisclosed with Equity Prime. I was told that the rate and fees would be less. We will see. I have no negative or positive to say at this time until we are in the final phase of the closing. I have ask for a payment schedule so that we know what our definate monthly payments will be. I am getting some varied info on this. Will follow up after my experience with this lender.
