Review: I hired [redacted] of ER Contracting of [redacted] to repair of my home after being substantially damaged by Hurricane Sandy. I gave [redacted], of 1/3 of his price as the contract stated. His total price was $94,000.00. On May 8, 2014 I gave him a check for $28,300. Since then he has promised to start my project, he told me he applied for all the necessary permits and certifications. He was ready to start demo, arrange for the house to be lifted, and put my house back together. He has disappeared. I tried to contact him by telephone and email. My last communication was 8/4/2014, and he confirmed to start work, and told me all permits are confirmed. He will not return my email or calls. I checked with the Toms River Engineering Dept. and no permits were filed for my property. I have no recourse but to contact the Dept. of Consumer Affairs, and the State District Attorney.Desired Settlement: Refund the $23,300 I gave him to start the project.

Review: Mr. [redacted] of E.R. Contracting was hir** to have my home rais** after it was severely damag** by Superstorm Sandy. The house was rais**, however, it was not plac** on the foundation for over 3 weeks. After several phone calls and letters went unanswer**, I contact** the house lifting company directly. I spoke with [redacted] at [redacted] I begg** him to please come and lower my home to the foundation as I could not get hold of [redacted]. After discussing the fact that I paid for the home to be dropp** ($6,000.00), [redacted] ask** if I could give him $3,000.00. I told him I did not have the money and he agre** to come and lower my home. Shortly thereafter, Mr. [redacted] call** me and ask** to have a meeting. I met him and told him I had call** the have the home lower**. He told me he was in the hospital and assur** me he would finish the job. The mason return** to finish and that was all that was done. I have telephon** and sent letters to Mr. [redacted] which have gone unanswer**. I receiv** a call from [redacted] today advising that [redacted] is under a great deal of stress, has no money and would not be completing any of his jobs. [redacted] had ask** if I would agree to meet him and [redacted] at my home to discuss maybe [redacted] finishing up the work having to be perform**. I agre**, but again, [redacted] could not make it. These contractors ne** to stop this behavior. They spend the money on other jobs, then do not have the money to pay their crew to finish the previous jobs.Desired Settlement: I wish to have [redacted] refund my money for the work he has not complet** and to pay [redacted] at [redacted] the sum of $6,000.00 which I paid to have the home lower** back on it's foundation.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

Enclosed please find correspondence from [redacted], Investigator for the Department of Consumer Affairs regarding the above-referenc** business. As you may recall, l fil** a complaint with the Revdex.com on November 21, 2013 regarding the above referenc** company. As you can see from the enclosed letter, Mr. [redacted] was unable to m**iate the complaint and therefore has considered that I file a complaint with Ocean County Special Civil Court.

I kindly request you consider the enclosed letter and make reference to this on ER Contracting’s Revdex.com business standing.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you.

Review: I hired ER Contracting to renovate a one car garage into a one bedroom suite a turnkey project total coast $52,800

– would need to enlarger exiting garage area by 4ft in with & extend by 8ft – 20ft x 30ft – made first deposit $5,000 to start & file for permits

Made another payment of -$20,000 to start the foundation work & rough framing work –Made another payment of 17,800 for the rest of the work.

Required – Electrical – pluming – AC/HAV system-windows –insulation - dry walling – all required finished need for final inspection need to be done

Last payment made last August 2014 –the only work completed was rough framing & flooring, foundation work & rough electrical work – He left the Job

Unfinished – I’ve sent letters requesting he finished by December – he assured us he would - stop by did a little of nothing left the job again

We sent another letter requesting he completes The work by another new do date of Febure 14 2014 we all agree – again show up once or twice –

Then he has another person – [redacted] that was going to take over the compltion of the pproject – then that fell through –

I would say only 15% of the work was complted by ER Contracting at this time I don’t want the contractor to finsh the work –

I would like to recive no less then $25,000 back from the $42,000 – it will cost me over $30,000 to finsh the project
