Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: [Your Answer Here] The company costamar express never disclose their policy for shipping products or electronic devices to myself or any other customer I went to the store and there is nothing displayed that disclose any information or restrictions , neither the counter female knew she stated that everything gets ship without any restrictions or limitations, this company is not providing enough information to the customer such as restrictions on shipments outside the USA as well as on regards to shipping company, when we asked for the name of the transportation company it was never give to us not even location of the offices outside the USA for this reason I strongly suggest that a member of the Revdex.com visit the location, like I did and see that this office as well as the other two locations in NY don't have any information from the shipping company or any other information displayed for customers to reviewThey can't even provide any information about ownership of the company or a name of the person in charge I think they should communicate better with customers special if customers trust them with their values in charge, they don't provide the customer service we deserve , In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

*** *** *** came to the establishment to send a packageHe sent a package to the country of ColombiaTo this country, we as courier companies can only send a minimum of pounds and maximum of pounds, information that we told the clientHe decided that he still wanted to send the
package even though it weighed pounds*** *** was not charged federal or state taxes because we as shipping companies do not charge US taxes since it shipping is something that is not taxableWhen *** *** sent the package, the salesperson, Jennifer, asked him what was inside the package, which he only declared: "Clothing." ** *** failed to mention that he was sending a Cell Phone, item that is prohibited to send in this fashion, especially, when he does not declare that it is being sentIf *** *** would have been honest and told us he was sending a cell phone, we would have told them the correct way to declare and send the cell phoneThe moment in which *** *** fails to declare he is sending the cell phone, he has committed an illegal act of avoiding custom duties on cell phones that enter colombiaWe explained that once you commit an act of not declaring items, the person receiving the package in Colombia must go to the capital to begin the process of seperation from what was declared and what was not declaredIn this case, it would be the cell phone, being seperated from the clothes that he did declare*** *** was very rude and did not want to listen to our indications after the fact, and also responded to the salesperson that he has been sending cell phones through other companies and never had this problemSadly, Colombian Customs agents are required to inspect courier cargo and to ** *** bad luck they found something that was not declared, the cell phoneWe have signs that tell us the correct way to send cell phones, but if customers are not honest with what they are sending and try to avoid custo ms duties it is difficult to help themThe documents *** *** requires are at the establishment but we have not been able to contact ** *** via his phone number provided on the receiptWe will send him the documents necessary for him to try and solve this issue, via mail** *** also states that my Company deals with undocumented customers; I would like to clarify that we do not ask our customers legal status in this country*** *** also states that we do not want to leave "paper trails," I believe that the US does not require companies to take credit or debit card paymentswe are a small business, we do not have a lot of salesSadly, we do not have enough money to invest in a credit card machine. Lastly, in defense of my company, when customers try to avoid taxes by not declaring what they are really sending and lying to the salesperson, I feel that we should not be liable for this customer trying to evade taxes in ColombiaWe are a company that's been in the courier business for years and the regulations of each country are clearWe have copies of the receipt given to the client and the papers of the Change of Classification, because of the cell Phone.At the end of the day the box was transported, and ** *** tried to avoid customs duties by not declaring what he was really sendingThe only person who can fix this is the Beneficiary of the box, Angelica Vargas, to ask that they separate the cell phone from the clothes he sent

In response to the additional Questions *** *** is still unclear about, *** *** claims that we do not disclose policies for shipping electronics, but we have posted signs both in the counter and outside that detail the restrictions of sending cellular phones to ColombiaIf you need photographic evidence we are glad to send itThe employee that works there knows the policy of sending cell phones,It is difficult to try and disclose policies if the client isn't honest about what he is sendingThe sending of cell phones to colombia is not a difficult process, while we only need the IME #, the exact model and a declared value of that Celular PhoneIt is impossible for us to read *** *** mind, and if he is not honest with what he is sending we cannot properly tell him if there is a restriction or not in what he is sendingTo *** *** Other point, where he states that the employee did not give him any information on the company that does customs in Colombia, this is true.The employee does not know what the company that does customs in Colombia, because this is only information that higher ups in Costamar knowThis is because as many shipping companies do, we outsource this to companies that are in ColombiaNow the paper work that ** *** was sent to the mailing address he provided contains all the information of who does customs including their RUC number which is the tax ID number in ColombiaI would like to repeat that we try to do everything in our possibility so that our customers do not have these types of things happen to them, but when our customers are not honest with what they are sending it is difficult to help them avoid these types of problemsI would be happy for Revdex.com to visit my location and see the amount of information we have posted not only for shipping to Colombia, as well as All of Latin AmericaEach country has its own sets of rules and regulations that we must followThat is why we require true honesty from our customers in order to serve them correctly
